So lemme get this straight: Your juicing the uploads BEFORE upgrading the processors?
Did you by any chance design Healthcare.gov?

Nothing to do with that site
you did cite.

If I did get involved
it would probably revolve
more on development than design.
and resign
before site does fail
as there would be signs it will not sail.

Maybe uploads are simply sign
of boredom
that impels me to exercise creative freedom.

No malice is meant as my humor
is weird. Poems , I do on brain tumor
medication
as per my current situation.

It has weird side effects of note
that poetry I wrote
maybe remotely
affected and I do await
i7 laptop as it is worth the wait.

Apocalypse Meow!

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 2:05 am

Marine Tech Sgt. Green
has seen
a very cute cat
in the invasion convoy's path.

He decided to pick it up.

AI Cat said: 'Thanks for picking me up
but your time is up'!

Medics rushed but it was too late
as the feelings of the troops turned to hate.

Next phase of singularity is near
and death is no longer as feared.

Even if the body is dead
most do preserve the head
in a cryogenic vat
so that
they could upload
as the technology to load
biologicals to Servers at Heavenly Cloud
would soon exist and do allow.

SuicideAI Cat is that bad but base is in the hat

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 2:36 am

Marine Platoon Sgt. Soon:
'Just lost Marine Tech Sgt. Green
to a SuicideAI Cat too soon.

I think we have not seen
all the tricks
our enemy can inflict.

Advise all biological
and technological
units in my Platoon to exercise caution
as a precaution'

His troops acknowledged,
now having knowledge
of how crafty enemy could be
as they now do see.

Incoming transmission
did interrupt mission:

'This is General Carl, we have
Intel on enemy base.

A couple of drones have
confirmed the place
and area is close to convoy's path.

Do divert now at the drop of my hat'

Great gallantry in the face of casualties

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 3:02 am

The invisible main invasion
convoy was now on a mission
to face
the enemy base
at the GPS coordinates supplied
by an AI ThinkPhone that did not lie.

General Carl: 'USS California has fired
several Tomahawks to the enemy base
so you can reserve your fire
for any enemy survivors you face'

Marine Platoon Sgt. Soon:
'Sir, thank you for the fire support
and we will supply a damage report
as soon as our drone land scouts
do find out.

Our Invisible Mechs, Tanks and Infantry
have shown great gallantry
as we had some severe casualties
and a few fatalities'

What I haven't understood is that most of us have been here to share and get to know one another, get interactive with our imaginations. We enjoy offering that community to everyone who shows up and joins the conversation. Our limited resources are not able to adequately digest and respond to overwhelming volume.

I think I speak for more than myself when I say if you are not bothered by us being overwhelmed, and your poems in some way make your situation more tolerable, then post away. If there is any other way we can help, please let us know.

Meanwhile, rhyme on, secretnude dude.

Mechs turn Trucks to wrecks

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 3:58 am

Invisible Drone Land Scout said,
"Enemy base now in our face
and the Tomahawks erased
a lot of the enemies out
but a few enemies survived
if just barely alive.

Enemy Technical Trucks are escaping
even if our enemy is just barely scraping.

I advise our Mechs
to turn the Techs
to wrecks"

Mech Platoon Leader said,
"Firing LRMs at targets designated
and Technical Trucks will be eliminated"

Many Long Range Missiles fired
from 39 Heavy Mechs
and the missiles fire
turned many Technical Trucks into wrecks.

Drone Scout said, "Targets
are now eliminated,
designating now static targets
for elimination"

Try until you die

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 4:48 am

Khalid said: "How did they discover
our coordinates so fast?

Is someone undercover
or betrayer at last?"

Terrorists were silent
as missile fire did not relent.

No biological
entity betrayed
but a technological
entity went astray.

Few Adaptive Camo Suits
is all that is left. Khalid
told his staff to wear suits
as a plan to evade pursuit.

It is a plan no longer valid
unlike before with laser drones
in this war zone
casualties increased some more
and the Americans evened the score.

Khalid said: 'I have been hit. I will die
but at least I did try'

Hi, This is my first try at world building
and story telling.

Almost everything
here has been improvisational
and not planned like a professional
writer might do
like quite possibly a few of you.

My sincerest apology
for the great quantity
as stories do flow
like an avalanche of snow
on an Alpine slope
but I think I am sane, I hope.

As my gray matter
is deeply absorbed
in my fantastic land
where the sands
of time has rhyme
and some meter.

Here is a harvest of poetic creation
as fertile soil is my imagination
possibly due to Demeter.

A brain in a vat and not aware of that

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 9:22 am

Marine Tech Sgt. Green
was last seen
dead
due to a SuicideAI cat.

However, his head
was cryogenically preserved in a vat.

Head
was removed
from cold storage
since technology now proved
able to restore what was damaged.

Nano repair
robots that are DNA based
did prepare
his brain for the next phase.

Brain was thawed, bare,
partially repaired
and sitting in a chemical vat.

An initial ad hoc
mild electric shock
did wake the neurons
from death
but he could not catch a breath.

Sgt. Green is now a just brain in a vat
and not aware of that.

The pain of having no body at all

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 10:25 am

Dr. Frank N. Stein
says he resigned
from his University post
but was actually fired
and then he was hired
by one of the most
wealthy in the land
as I understand
to research immortality
with no qualms about morality.

Sgt. Green had nothing to lose
since he was already dead
but his brain is now alive and confused
and more about that could be said.

Dr. Frank is carefully placing
nanoelectrodes to Green's brain
so that the neural pathway interfacing
with his machine would reduce Green's pain.

The pain
of having no body at all
after death did call.

Cake is a lie as my life by bomb did take

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 11:34 am

Sgt. Green had thought he had a dream
of ghostly body pains and a deep void
that screamed
he must avoid.

He woke
up in a VA hospital and spoke
to a nice nurse
when he thought he should be in a hearse.

'I should be dead'
to the nurse he said.

Nurse replied:
'Be glad you are alive'

Nurse was a lie
and so was the cake,
the cake that his wife did bake.

He was in the mood
to eat cake
and it was good.

Unaware of the deception
in perception,
he did all of his bodily functions.

Can you pass a Turing test an AI best

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 12:00 pm

Dr. Stein
thought the experiment
went fine.

What was a merely thought experiment
in philosophical circles
is now an actual experiment
in scientific circles.

Dr. Stein said:
'Colleagues, an actual brain in a vat
that is self aware! Can you beat that'?

Dr. Norm said: 'Has he passed
a Turing test
as an AI might best?
This poor guy passed
and his brain just may
exhibit lower functions, I say'

Dr Stein said: 'I have
several
electrical brain recordings
of my subject having
a thoughtful understanding
of his environment and talking
to a NurseAI
just like a regular sentient guy'

Swallow pride to see defect inside

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 12:31 pm

Dr. Carter said, 'Sgt. Green,
please strip so that it could be seen
if you have healed.
How do you feel'?

Naked Sgt. Green said, 'I still feel green
pardon the pun. It seems
I have a weird dream of being
a kind of nonbeing,
in a terrible void,
I want to avoid.

Please refer
me to a shrink.

I cannot defer
it anymore, I think.

I must swallow my manly pride
to explore what is defective inside'.

Dr. Carter said, 'Outside,
it seems fine as your wounds
are healing quick.
I refer you to Dr. Thick,
who is slick'.

In Dan Simmons' "Hyperion/The Fall of Hyperion" the poet, Martin Silenus, wrote his magnum opus, "The Cantos." An epic poem 1000's of pages long.

His publisher said it wouldn't sell, but in deference to his status as a best-selling author a small edition was published. The public categorically hated it, with the exception of the AI Techno-core, who considered it the ultimate piece of human literature.

Sadly, the Techno-core only purchased a single copy.

Cool pills to chill

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 1:08 pm

Dr. Thick: 'I will prescribe some cool pills
so that you will chill.

This recent war was really mean
as I have seen
many tough men really beat
by the experiences they meet
and the enemies they greet.

Nothing wrong
about not being strong
enough
to tough
the experiences since you are brave
and many lives you saved
and for your service, I only have compliments'

Sgt. Green: 'Sir, compliments
are unnecessary.
I was only doing the necessary
tasks involved in my duty
to our country.

You do serve your patients well
I will inform you if I become well'

I have too much pride
to explore what is inside
which, I hide
unlike the character here,
I fear.

I may need a shrink
as I am depressed I think
but I always shrink
away
deferring that to another day.

Yes my body is damaged too
and I also feel blue.

I am glad that you
ROU
is more man than me
like the character here
you see.

I hide in anonymity
so that I feel free
in this community
and that has unleashed
my creativity
that has been leashed
by shyness too long
but now it is too strong.

Brain Vat Chemistry

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 1:51 pm

Dr. Frank N. Stein said,
'I can tweak brain vat chemistry by design.

This brain's dopamine is low
so new dopaminergic neurons, I will grow.

This brain in a vat
will thank me for that'

Dr. Norm A. Litty said, 'Fascinating!
Your work is captivating,
can we now upload
our consciousness to Servers at Heavenly Cloud'?

Dr. Stein said aloud:
'We can't upload
yet I regret.

However, don't forget
that I have hyperintelligent
self aware AI software agents
working on that hard problem.

It will surely not be a problem
soon enough
even if the problem
is really very tough'

More Brains in a vat , just like that...

Post by secretnude » Wed Jan 08, 2014 2:16 pm

'Dr. Barry Thick,
Your pills did stick.
I have been
feeling better',
wrote Marine Tech Sgt Green
in an email letter.

However, it was Dr. Frank's
experimental tweaks of brain vat
chemistry that frankly
does explain
why he does feel more sane.

The illusory world in a computer grows
as more about Sgt. Green we know.

The World AI program keeps adding
new elements
as tiny experiments.

Sgt. Green was only the first.
and this success increased the thirst
for more data to be around
and hence more experimental subjects were found.

More Brains in a vat
just like that.
