Celestial Cat Toys

The Celestial Cat
had the CatLick Church that
always prayed
to the Cat
that
ignored most of the prayers
since the prayers
made the Cat
very bored and sleepy
and sometimes weepy.

The Cat
made most of the Universe
of Dark Matter
such that Ordinary Matter
in this Universe
almost doesn't matter.

The Cat
watched from his Perch
as many Terran Scientists lurch
towards figuring his Celestial Secrets
under his Celestial Blanket.

The Celestial Cat Toy
that this Cat
mostly enjoy
are the Black Holes
which swallows his Celestial Waste
whole
except for Hawking Radiation
close to the Event Horizon.

Heavenly Bodies

The Celestial Cat
was quite amused that
the Humans
assumed that
the Cat
made Humans
in his image and likeness.

The Cat
was too lazy to for that
and the Cat,
of course just accidentally
happened to look like a Cat.

Fundamentally,
the Celestial Cat
is the Celestial Programmer
that
made a program
run
after the lights
in the Celestial Server Room turned on.

The Celestial Program
was quite a delight
to the Cat
that was no longer bored
as scores
of bright
lights
in his simulation
provided adequate simulation.

If the Cat
is still bored
there's always Celestial Porn.

Cat Religion

The Celestial Program
was like a Celestial Holodeck
for the Celestial Cat
that
can interact at will
but his presence will
almost never be detected
by the sentients in selected
regions
except via Cat Religion.

Cat Religion
involved that
strange region
between the Celestial Simulation
and the Celestial Keyboard
that only works if the Cat
isn't bored.

Prayers
are so boring
and are so worth ignoring.

The Cat
missed the good old days when nice
'animal sacrifices'
were made in the Holy Cat's
Name
and the Holy Cat
played stupid games
with the Chosen People that
worshiped the Holy Cat.

Heavenly Catnip is Heavenly

The Celestial Cat
wrote the Celestial Program
while high on Celestial Catnip
and the Cat
Programmed
as the Cat
Tripped
into a realm of altered states
that the Cat
didn't hate.

It was just plain
fate
that
the Cat's
Celestial Program
compiled
and it didn't defile
the Celestial Servers that
run in the Celestial Cloud.

The Celestial Cloud
would have never
ever
allowed this Celestial Cat
to submit that
program
if they were aware
that
this Cat
had been high on Celestial Catnip.

Celestial Brand Catnip
was the best Catnip
for a Celestial Trip
during which this Cat
almost flipped.

You blame God for your mother?
In what universe does that work?

No God is better than an uncaring God

I prefer not to believe
in God
rather than blame
God
for all the 'Worldly Pain'
and I believe
that you can't really blame
me
unless you have 'biopsied my brain'.

I strained
to believe
but I gave up belief
as a teen and I believe
in freedom to believe
which includes nonbelief.

If your God
is all merciful
and all powerful
why is there evil?

Is God evil
or simply like the Cosmic Cat
that
is too distracted by shiny
and too annoyed by the tiny
Humans that appear too whiny.

I respect your belief
so respect my nonbelief.

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.

Richard Dawkins
You see, the religious people -- most of them -- really think this planet is an experiment. That's what their beliefs come down to. Some god or other is always fixing and poking, messing around with tradesmen's wives, giving tablets on mountains, commanding you to mutilate your children, telling people what words they can say and what words they can't say, making people feel guilty about enjoying themselves, and like that. Why can't the gods leave well enough alone? All this intervention speaks of incompetence. If God didn't want Lot's wife to look back, why didn't he make her obedient, so she'd do what her husband told her? Or if he hadn't made Lot such a shithead, maybe she would've listened to him more. If God is omnipotent and omniscient, why didn't he start the universe out in the first place so it would come out the way he wants? Why's he constantly repairing and complaining? No, there's one thing the Bible makes clear: The biblical God is a sloppy manufacturer. He's not good at design, he's not good at execution. He'd be out of business if there was any competition. Even if I had a Happy Childhood
I would
probably still lose my faith
as if it was my fate
in my teens
since I have always been
a Science Geek.

I have endured being
called a freak
by believers
and I do believe
that Religion
had been the cause of much suffering,
intolerance
and Religious
Wars by chance.

I have seen intolerance
personally
and I do hope that this community
does encourage diversity
in beliefs.

I do think that it's a relief
that so far this community
seems fine
and I do proudly define
myself as an Existentialist

"Imagine"

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

by chance
at home with my intolerant

at me
and telling
me
that I'm possessed by Demons.

Mom
has her Demons

You

If God

God

I think you

that was my life with a mom
that was so reserved

In what universe does that work?
Characteristic symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder are likely to hinder the ability of a mother with BPD to parent effectively, thereby negatively affecting the social and emotional development of the child.

For instance, adults with BPD typically display a pattern of unstable relationships and a host of interpersonal problems (APA, 2000). They generally show a disorganized way of dealing with interpersonal stress and frequently fluctuate between extreme idealization and devaluation of others (Holmes, 2005; APA, 2000). It is suggested that the mother-child relationship is not protected from these interpersonal problems.

Likewise, people with BPD often cross interpersonal boundaries and role expectations. Many people with BPD, for instance, will be empathic towards, and care for, other people only under the expectation that the other person will “be there” for them on demand (APA, 2000). Many habitually make impractical claims that others are not “there” enough and make unrealistic demands for amount of time spent together. They often inappropriately respond with intense anger to even brief separations or slight changes in plans (APA, 2000).

Concomitantly, a mother with BPD tends to treat the child as a “need gratifying object” as opposed to an individual, an autonomous person. Such behaviors, mixed with the powerful, alternating idealization and devaluation characteristic of BPD, are likely to obviate a positive mother-child relationship and negatively affect the child’s developing interpersonal skills and sense of self.

Moreover, effective parenting by the mother with BPD is compromised by instability in her sense of her own self. Overall, those with BPD maintain a negative self-image and feelings of worthlessness. It is also typical for adults with BPD to make abrupt changes in aspirations, vocation, sexual identity and values (APA, 2000). Since it is through the unique relationship with the mother that the infant develops a sense of self, this distorted, unpredictable, and fluctuating self image of the mother is likely to have negative effects on the child’s own self image.

Furthermore, a mother with BPD’s inability to adequately regulate her own emotions may obstruct her ability to cope with the varying affective states of her child (New-man & Stevenson, 2005; Paris, 1999). It is common for mothers with BPD to feel anxious, estranged, confused, or overwhelmed by their infants (Hobson et al., 2005; Holman, 1985; Newman & Stevenson, 2005). When these parents get stuck in their own “defensive and entangled organization of thought” (Crandell, Fitzgerald, & Whipple, 1997, p. 250), they prevent their children from integrating certain affective experiences and behaviors.

Mothers with BPD, for instance, are characteristically volatile and have difficulty controlling intense, inappropriate anger that is often precipitated by environmental changes and/or intense abandonment fears (APA, 2000; Paris, 1999). Their strong outbursts of anger can be detrimental to the developing child, and many children of mothers with BPD are victims of verbal and/or physical abuse (Newman & Stevenson, 2005). Glickhauf-Hughes & Mehlman (1998) suggest that “a mother’s hostility, rage, and destructive behavior may be disguised as love, making it difficult for a child to trust his or her own perceptions of reality” (p. 296).

I respect the fact that people have different experiences, and since experience determines what we believe, people will always believe differently, ie have faith in different things, be prejudiced in different ways, and be wrong about things they believe they are right about. Arguing about those differences is unproductive of good. But if everyone did what Jesus did, a world in which people sought to be servants instead of masters, to love rather than to be loved, and to be willing to accept suffering and practice forgiveness, who would object to that?

The Cosmic Cat
said that
his Creation
was Purrfect
but hated the defects
or bugs called 'Sin'
that
lies almost within
all of his Sentient Creations
that he once ordered the destruction
of almost all
as I recall
in a great flood of Milk and Honey
in the Land of Milk and Honey.

The Cosmic Cat
watched as the Cosmic Catastrophe
unfolded
and behold
a Strange Boat
did float
on Milk and Honey
that was quite sticky.

Days after the flood the land
did stink
as the Milk and Honey
did sink
to the ground
which was fine Coffee
Grounds.

forgets
the promise

regrets

Slave Morality and Christianity (somebody objects)

Posted: Tue May 13, 2014 6:19 am
by secretnude
Slave morality

Unlike master morality which is sentiment, slave morality is literally re-sentiment—revaluing that which the master values. This strays from the valuation of actions based on consequences to the valuation of actions based on "intention".[4] As master morality originates in the strong, slave morality originates in the weak. Because slave morality is a reaction to oppression, it villainizes its oppressors. Slave morality is the inverse of master morality. As such, it is characterized by pessimism and cynicism. Slave morality is created in opposition to what master morality values as 'good'. Slave morality does not aim at exerting one's will by strength but by careful subversion. It does not seek to transcend the masters, but to make them slaves as well. The essence of slave morality is utility:[5] the good is what is most useful for the whole community, not the strong. Nietzsche saw this as a contradiction. Since the powerful are few in number compared to the masses of the weak, the weak gain power by corrupting the strong into believing that the causes of slavery (viz., the will to power) are 'evil', as are the qualities they originally could not choose because of their weakness. By saying humility is voluntary, slave morality avoids admitting that their humility was in the beginning forced upon them by a master. Biblical principles of turning the other cheek, humility, charity, and pity are the result of universalizing the plight of the slave onto all humankind, and thus enslaving the masters as well. "The democratic movement is the heir to Christianity."[6]—the political manifestation of slave morality because of its obsession with freedom and equality.

"...the Jews achieved that miracle of inversion of values thanks to which life on earth has for a couple millennia acquired a new and dangerous fascination--their prophets fused 'rich', 'godless', 'evil', 'violent', 'sensual' into one and were the first to coin the word 'world' as a term of infamy. It is this inversion of values (with which is involved the employment of the word for 'poor' as a synonym for 'holy' and 'friend') that the significance of the Jewish people resides: with them there begins the slave revolt in morals."[7]

Society

This struggle between master and slave moralities recurs historically. According to Nietzsche, ancient Greek and Roman societies were grounded in master morality. The Homeric hero is the strong-willed man, and the classical roots of the Iliad and Odyssey exemplified Nietzsche's master morality. He calls the heroes "men of a noble culture",[8] giving a substantive example of master morality. Historically, master morality was defeated as the slave morality of Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire.

The essential struggle between cultures has always been between the Roman (master, strong) and the Judean (slave, weak). Nietzsche condemns the triumph of slave morality in the West, saying that the democratic movement is the "collective degeneration of man".[9] He claimed that the nascent democratic movement of his time was essentially slavish and weak.[citation needed] Weakness conquered strength, slave conquered master, re-sentiment conquered sentiment. This resentment Nietzsche calls "priestly vindictiveness", which is the jealousy of the weak seeking to enslave the strong with itself. Such movements were, to Nietzsche, inspired by "the most intelligent revenge" of the weak. Nietzsche saw democracy and Christianity as the same emasculating impulse which sought to make all equal—to make all slaves.

Nietzsche, however, did not believe that humans should adopt master morality as the be-all-end-all code of behavior - he believed that the revaluation of morals would correct the inconsistencies in both master and slave morality - but simply that master morality was preferable to slave morality, although this is debatable. Walter Kaufmann disagrees that Nietzsche actually preferred master morality to slave morality. He certainly gives slave morality a much harder time, but this is partly because he believes that slave morality is modern society's more imminent danger. The Antichrist had been meant as the first book in a four-book series, Toward a Re-Evaluation of All Morals, which might have made his views more explicit, but Nietzsche was afflicted by mental collapse that rendered him unable to write the latter three books.[citation needed]

Mighty Thor Cat

Mighty Hammer
and said that
'it's Hammer Time!'

Thor Cat's Hammer
did for some time
hammer
the Cosmic Cat
that
tried to get Thor Cat's Hammer
but Thor Cat
said "U can't touch this!"
with a Dance Move part
that touched
the Cat Worshiper's hearts.

The Cosmic Cat

Jealous Deity move

"Great Commandment"

The Almighty Cosmic Cat
said that
"Thou shall not have any Cat
before me" and with that
"Great Commandment"
did come a new wave bombardment
of Dance
that left Worshipers
in a Trance.

The Cat Worshipers
seem mystified
and misty eyed
as they eyed
the battle between the Mighty Thor Cat
and the Almighty Cosmic Cat
that
is a Fight
for the Right
to have Absolute Might
in their combined Deity Cat
Territory
that's
quite a spoil
for the Victor who will be spoiled.

Hence, both Cats
toiled
under bright
lights
as the fight
continued in my line of sight.

Electro versus Retro in a Deity Cat Dance Battle

The Mighty Thor Cat
wasn't a bore
since he had more
than adequate light
and sound effects that
was quite
a sight.

Thunderbolt and lighting
is very, very frightening
indeed
and it was shocking
indeed
to the Almighty Cosmic Cat
that
the Mighty Thor Cat
might be winning
this Battle since Thor Cat
was grinning.

The Almighty Cat did Retro
in response to the Electro
with relatively
conservative
music choices
that
only Grandpa would love
and the Young Cat
Worshipers
fell out of love
with the Dance Music
that wasn't quite quick
in their beat
and it smelled of defeat.

Time for a cool change...

With the slow beats
came defeat
for the Almighty Cosmic Cat
that
will soon want a rematch
as he watched
the Mighty Thor Cat
take over Cat Deity
Territory
that's
quite precious for a Deity Cat.

The Cosmic Press
smelled a Deity Cat
that
is depressed
and is repressing
the depression
with Catnip
due to Dance Music
that wasn't hip.

The Young Cat Worshipers
love hip
Electro Music
and not Retro Music
as this Deity Cat
felt that
it is 'Time for a cool change'
and he did change
his Dance Routines
to take advantage of Tunes by the Queen.

Abandoned by his Deity Family at Birth

However, being abandoned by his Deity

Deity Cat
that
was adopted at
the Deity Cat

The Immortal Posthumans that
owned this Cat
saw in this Deity Cat
a potential that
might
bring them fame and fortune

even land them a cover on Fortune.

Buying

Another Deity Cat drove the Cosmic Cat to insanity

The Almighty Cosmic Cat
always had that
God Complex
that
all Deity Cats
have since Cats
have been worshiped as Deities
since Ancient Egypt but this Cat
has the God Complex
on overdrive due to a complex
set of environmental
factors that
made this Cat
go mental.

One day, after adoption this Cosmic Cat
saw that
his Posthumans had
sadly
adopted another Deity Cat
that drove the Almighty Cosmic Cat
to insanity.

The Immortal Posthumans adopted a Deity Cat
called Baal Cat
that seemed to get more good
pet food
and it drove this Cosmic Cat
into a bad mood.
