I don't care, I am still free You can't take Firefly from me

Take My Sci-fi Away From Me

I don't care, I am still free
You can't take Firefly from me.

Watch show turn black,
Network said not coming back,
Burn recordings to DVD
You can't take Firefly from me.

Leave files where they lay,
they might not see another day
Lost my Disk, my files
I buy Firefly DVD

I feel net reaching out
I hear Browncoats without a doubt
I still hear, I still see
You can't take Firefly from me.

Lost show that I love
No more Firefly from above
There is Firefly DVD and
a box of Serenity

enough to be in a Category of One."

in favor of strange experimentation."

so bad at dating, it is reproaching at bad rating!

Post by secretnude » Sun Dec 08, 2013 4:40 am

I Am Single
But I Do Not Mingle

I am a Pringle in a stack that is single in having many cracks!
I am lonely and defective and money not effective in bringing joy so I play with toys!
I am a boy that is so coy in girl approaching, so bad at dating, it is reproaching at bad rating!

I am the cracked Pringle, indeed Single!
Girl can't get 'nuff, Pringles that are buff.
Once they pop the top, one is not enough and they don't stop!

I am crumbs, not dumb!
I slip their thumb and remain numb!

Welcome to the forums, Secretnude!

I noticed you started a whole slew of threads within a couple of hours - please bring peace to my heart and confirm you're a human being and not a spammer, will you? ;)

If you are not a robot, a hearty welcome to you! The poet-drabblers are a fearsome tribe.

I Think Too Much And It Is Such

I Think Too Much
And It Is Such

a bit too much with thoughts so dark, obviously stark, all in a lark.

I need a break for my sake or I will break and life I may take.

So dark and blue if I don't see you I need to renew my emotional hue.
I am bare while I write with care, my poetry I share, oh, what a dare!

So is my heart and my mind for a start you will find feelings so real that I have to deal
otherwise I feel like an ant under a heel!

So sorry to be so active, I may be radioactive.

I am human like you but periodically I grew
poetic powers anew by eating some cashew
dipped in radioactive sauce and I forgot to floss

and so I have to gloss at so much loss
in my life like lacking a wife
to continue writing and fighting
otherwise life not exciting

and I hope this community
would gain some immunity
from my infection of a selection
of poetry so original it is so virginal

like me
you see
do you not really agree?
So what you say?
Make my day!

Glad to know you're not a bot! FYI, 20 new threads in 3 hours on your first day on the forum is a bit of an overload. If you want people to read each thread and give feedback, you'd do better to post just a few at a time so we all have time to read and digest 'em.

If you're just on a roll tonight, how about making yourself a single thread and posting multiple poems there? That way everyone else's stories don't get buried in the onslaught.

Otherwise, happy drabbling, and welcome!

I had written some of these before, so my output would decline a score
I apologise if I am a bit of a bore in posting so much poetry from my data core.

My memory has a high capacity and my cortical processor a has tenacity
in creating poetry from scratch since it is an itch I have to scratch.

I have been a closet poet too long not sharing even a tiny song
and I do hope we get along in this world in which we belong.
I hope we now friends until this sad, pathetic world truly ends

You're golden, my friend! :D I'll see about merging the night's collection into a single thread to document the awesomeness. I think you've set a record for most drabbles posted in one night - way cool!

This thread is to honor and enshrine the very impressive first night's worth of drabbles created by new forum member Secretnude!

In an effort to keep the Drabbles forum neat, I have merged most of them onto this thread for more convenient reading and discussion.

Please say hi to Uncle Norm!
I am glad to write a drabble storm.

I hope to hear one soon on the podcast, since I have listened to every Drabblecast!

I hope to write something more meaty soon like a short story worthy of this podcast set on the moon with Astronauts and Cosmonauts in space and let us add the Chinese in the race!

I do like to write in rhyme, even if I do not earn a dime from all these effort since it does help support my mood, unusually not that good since, I do really brood.

I Like Linux

Post by secretnude » Sun Dec 08, 2013 4:16 pm

I Like Linux

You See, You See
the Linux Kernel you can build with gcc!
And if you ever find a bug,
the source code is not hidden under a rug,
unlike that of the Microsoft Windows OS thugs.

Unix has heritage
that only come with age.
Unix command line has power,
I can bash script in the shower.

vi is old,
but like a mold,
it is every distro,
so use it like a pro!

X Windows is cool
but it is not like MS Win you fool!
It has a different architecture
and it could be more secure.

Maybe I just need to cry, but I really do not know why.

I Feel Hollow and Empty

Like a soda can so empty, of fluids, used up and dry.
Maybe I just need to cry, but I really do not know why.

Life can drain you of passion, and energy like some tension, in a rubber band that snapped!
Continue on, like a zombie, living but not alive like in a movie?

Maybe it is time to move on, unless I do get back the groove that I seem to have lost, at a great cost to my ego.

So away do let me go to a better place, to save face!

I Battle Depression And Retrogression Into an emotional fail

Post by secretnude » Sun Dec 08, 2013 4:43 pm

I Battle Depression
And Retrogression

Into an emotional fail,
like a beached whale
or a ship that can't sail
or in a jail without bail!

In my head, I may be ahead,
in the battle, but I may be cattle,
in the end, but it depends
on my moods, often not good!

I am a sad lad but in writing not bad to express misfortunes in words.
Life is absurd!

I like to be heard by other people not so down.
They try to cheer me like a clown.
I just continue to frown like Jack who broke his crown.

With Duct Tape And A Swiss Knife, I write a poem to MacGyver

Post by secretnude » Sun Dec 08, 2013 4:57 pm

I Loved the Show "Macgyver"
So With Duct Tape And A Swiss Knife

I write a poem to MacGyver
In the show, he had exciting life
and so much action to deliver
despite being single, without a wife.

I will formulate an explosive rhyme
with the Chemistry degree of mine
from common materials found
and the explosion makes a big sound.

Physics is cool, MacGyver makes tools
from objects that maybe rejects
for force to project or deflect
and that I cannot reject!

Watching him improvise
to get out of a vise
is so nice
it is cool as ice!

I Admire Peter Higgs Since in Physics he is big!

I Admire Peter Higgs Since in Physics he is big!

A particle, field and Nobel Prize in his name, a Briton so great but honoured very late for a 1960s proposal.
CERN has a large hadron collider in its disposal.

Hadrons are composed of quarks bound by strong force, so stark.
Proton or neutron is one of many kinds of hadrons, so fun.

Lead nucleus is indeed a big hadron colliding.
Confirming Higg's Mechanism of mass generation in one generation.

Leading to completion of the Standard Model.
In the Swiss Alps we Yodel!

Celebrate the Nobel, a discovery so novel.

I Love Marmalade

Post by secretnude » Sun Dec 08, 2013 11:41 pm

I Love Marmalade

It is so sweet, it might beat, butter on toast, but most, delightful and beautiful, is it on croissant.
Even an ant would certainly approve, need proof?
Take a bite and try, oh my! To stay aloof!
In the bottle it is nice like coloured ice.
Knife dips in, it is a big win!

Spread on plain white bread, emptying of the bottle, I dread!
I recently read, that the store has scored a price hike on the thing I like.
I would certainly buy it if I spy it on the grocery shelves like tiny elves.

I Love Bright Colours and Through A Prism the White Light

Post by secretnude » Sun Dec 08, 2013 11:49 pm

I Love Bright Colours
and Through A Prism the White Light

Splits into colours for our sight
and give us so much great delight
and let my fancy take flight
like a green laser scope sight!

Aimed at the stars, so very far
and yet we know how they grow
and die, all from light and sight.
It is such spectral scientific delight!

Electromagnetic radiation
is a universal condition
of atoms in excitation
leading to photon emission!

Photons carry some mass away
from atomic fusion in stars,
giving us light night and day
even if they are very far away.

I Dream Of Terraforming Mars

Post by secretnude » Sun Dec 08, 2013 11:59 pm

I Dream Of Terraforming Mars
Kim Stanley Robinson Has A Great Mars Trilogy

of Red, Green and Blue just written for you.

About a long term multigenerational mission of Martian colonization and Trans-national Corporations due to globalization.

Genetic Engineering is a common theme reappearing in all three novels such idea is a bit novel.

What I like is a dream Utopian amid a scene dystopian.

Our technologies may have the solutions to our problems like pollution and overpopulation if we give science sanction and take political action.

Just like in this book, it is really worth taking a good look.

I Admire Adam Smith He Is The Smith

Post by secretnude » Mon Dec 09, 2013 12:05 am

I Admire Adam Smith
He Is The Smith

of the said metaphorical invisible hand
acting throughout the land
that on the balance
in common parlance

leads to the common good
like the cheaper goods
all from the greed
and the people's need

to fulfil selfish desires
and better life to aspire
such worldly desires
might really just set the world on fire

but not since the invisible hand
is like a socioeconomic magic wand in the hands
of a fickle economic witch, which said to be sometimes a bitch,
but the free market is still making us all somewhat rich!

Has Red Panda computer literacy, twittering

Post by secretnude » Mon Dec 09, 2013 12:13 am

I Like Red Pandas
Also Called Lesser Panda

but is not less cute.
Native to the Himalayas
and China,
population is acute.

What does Red Panda say?
Go ahead ask me any day!
Twittering, tweeting, whistling sounds.
Has Red Panda computer literacy
a bit crazy,
twittering away
140 char everyday!

Sorry for the pun!
Word play is a fun
way to say some facts
with some tact
and interact.

Extinction is serious
are you not a bit curious
about how it sounds
before none is found.

Remember to tweet
for Red Panda,
it will be sweet
like syrup from Canada!
