Oh dear,

Post Singularity Higher Education Primer

Universities
in this Verse
Universe
just create and sell
Brain Interface Device
or BID modules that are nice.

Ivy League does well
as community and city colleges
closed.

Singularity imposed
a winner take all
windfall
for Universities
with BID module writers.

Lesser
Universities
became testing
and certification
centers.

Ivy League Universities
expanded postgraduate offerings
and opened researcher
job postings
as they
expanded their
research
their centers.

K to 12 BID
modules did
create kids
that have Doctorate
degrees
in their early teens
a common scene
among the elite that is free
to spend
to on BID modules to no end.

What color is my post singularity parachute?

I was a respected
city college professor.

I expected
a job
for life.

I was tenured
in my job.

I had a future.

Now, I am on welfare
like so many others
who dared
not get another
line of work.

Work
for teachers
was eliminated by progress.

Progress
in understanding
how we understand.

They eliminated the need to teach
or so preach
the vendors of the Brain Interface
Device.

I face
a future that is not nice.

I mourn loss
of propose in life
as my wife
supports
and comforts.

How ironic that my future
was stolen by the future.

How ironic that my future
was stolen by the future.
The Future is a Black Hole; the Present is its Event Horizon.
The Past is that fallen tree in the forest, making no sound, because although some may have been there, they weren't paying attention.
All that remains is the memory of its uncatchable light.

Singularity Reloaded

Dr. Enrico Gram
discovered the engram.

Engrams
is how brains encode
and decode
information as synaptic links,
or so I think.

Thanks to Dr. Gram,
we have 'Brain Backup' now.

Dr. Gram
also started a company
somehow.

Dr. Gram
called the company Hydrocarbonite.

Hydocarbonite
is from
Hydrocarbons
from
which we are composed
and Carbonite,
a Star Wars reference Dr. Gram
proposed
to Hydrocarbonites'
Board
since Dr. Gram
was really bored.

Hydrocarbonite
is brain backup to the Cloud

Hydrocarbonite
proclaimed out
loud:
'Mortality is out!

The next phase
of the singularity
Hydrocarbonite
brings'

The next phase
was a really big thing.

Waiting for Godot to die

Joe's parents got a Brain backup plan
from Hydrocarbonite.

Plan
felt right.

Immortality
of your parents might
be good at first sight.

However, immortality
had bad consequences for the clan
as many planned
to spend their inheritance
by chance
on items big and small.

The inheritance
is a windfall.

Inheritance
never came.

Their lives
were not the same.

They waited
and waited
more
until their patience was no more.

Brothers
and sisters
plotted either to kill
or forge a will.

Greed
and need
made the deed
easy indeed.

They used a mental hack
to get all the money they lacked.

I remember when hyperlinks first came along, and how they seemed that the internet had evolved informational neural pathways. Until Skynet wages war with them i don't have a problem with them either.

(Yes, I'm well aware that I probably just caused a 3 page thread of poetry to be generated on this topic. Secretnude is like DC's own Rhyme-bot.)

Feedback seems good.

In the future,
I could be in the mood
to make drabbles
for sure
with more than one link
per drabble
with potential to cause
more trouble
because
I think
this opens a CYOA
or choose your own adventure
drabble
venture.

However, that requires much more
forward thinking
than I normally spend thinking
to make the scores
of drabbles here,
I fear.

I will wait
to see if the idea is bright
by awaiting
this community's responses, both righteous
and courteous

I do vote
to make
CYOA
drabbles
reality.

Reality
is, I always wanted to make
CYOA.

ROU and I would like to ask if you've read Danielewski's House of Leaves.
Just interested in where this might be headed.

She has an 'Immortal Mind'
that you will find
in a 'Designer Body'
that no male
would ever fail
to notice.

Males
noticed
her signature body
from the neoBody
shop
where you can shop
for designer
bodies,
now
another sign
of the ongoing singularity somehow.

Her mind has a mental
backup in the Heavenly
Cloud.

Males
go mental
over her 'Heavenly
Body' out loud.

She had a choice of suitors
that would suit her
all belonging
to the 'Immortal 1%'

Suitors
longing
to embrace a very decent
immortal bride
with great pride.

She's got it!
Yes baby, She's got it!

I don't mind
if I find
other drabble threads
that will thread
on my idea of a 'Choose
Your Own Adventure.'

I choose
to embrace
this venture
with the grace
of this community.

There seems to be unity
that the idea is good
so I am in the mood
to start
this art
with the story above
about love.

I would also love
to see
cross drabble thread
continuities
as we thread
on each others threads.

Maybe a hive story
mind,
I worry
will soon find
but I really do not mind
since there are no contracts that bind.

I haven't read House of Leaves.

I believe,
I could have been writing ergodic text.

I guess, what is next
is semi interactive cyber text
or an interactive audio book form
with a narrator like Norm.

I played a disappointing RPG,
you see
called Return to Zork.

I have always been a dork.

Return to Zork
has forks
in a storyline
that may have felt fine
in a text
based context
of yore
since the original Zork did score.

Choose Your own Adventure books
did took
part of my life. I treasure
the pleasure
in choosing your destiny,
you see.

Yeah, "Return to Zork" was really disappointing. Did you ever play "Zork: Grand Inquisitor"? Of the point-and-click style Zorks, that was easily my favorite. It was friggin' hilarious!

Return to Zork
in my gaming life was a fork.

It was the only Zork
I played.

Before Zork,
I played
and enjoyed RPG
a lot more , you see
in the early DOS days
like Wing Commander , I say.

Playing Return to Zork
left a bad taste
for me and my brother on RPG
and from RPG
we ran away with great haste.

We play games with less story
and more gory,
Real Time Strategy
for me
and First Person Shooter for him.

It was a real tragedy
since for RPG
it was 'He is Dead Jim.'

I saw the most perfect female
body with my male
eyes and I was mesmerized.

I dared to approach
risking reproach.

I made small talk
while we walked.

I said:
"What has led
you to these parts?

There is nothing here apart
from trees,
you
see.

Do you
want to go camping there
with me"?

She said:
"I would have to be dead
for you to be seen with me!

I am a busy bee
with an upcoming photo shoot, you see"

I thought: "Shoot,
I have to make myself
more
attractive
for my courting attempts to be more
effective"

Venus naked by the trees (Valentines)

In a National Park,
it was almost dark
and you saw some bright
sparks
of light.

A lot males
didn't fail
to obtain delight
on seeing a perfect Goddess
in sight.

You sighed
and looked at your own form.

You were instantly informed
of your need to get in shape.

You wanted males
to also ape
you without fail
and deep inside, you wail.

It was a photo shoot
and it was a hoot.

Goddess
did bare
all
and all
the people did stare
at her perfect form
very well informed
it was bought
but the Goddess
they still sought.
