A bored immortal human in deep space

Our Destination is Gileise
581g in Gileise
system and we are closer to Gileise
than to Sol.

Boredom makes us examine our soul
but only metaphorically.

After Human
physical immortality
became the norm, most of humanity
stopped believing in having a soul
and an afterlife.

My wife
opted to stay on Mars
and I miss her.

I will be back for her.

This ship was originally a comet
heading for planet
for Terraforming Mars

We have transformed this comet
into a city
in space with a length of two kilometers
width of one kilometer
and height of one kilometer.

Time is Oxygen

I am so Bored!

I will retire
to my stasis pod as I am tired
of seeing nothing
and more nothing...

Space is vast
even at the fast
sublight speeds we are moving.

Immortality is a double edged sword cutting
to the question what?

do I want to be
for eternity?

Previous generations
said time
is Gold
now time
is like Oxygen.

is essential but
common and cheap.

Time for me to
go to
deep sleep.

Frying an Alien Cat just like that (Aliens)

We scored
a direct hit on a hostile ship.

It was too bad as the aliens
looked hip.

looked like big Cats
with hands,
you understand.

We gave them the name
after an old video game.

said they claimed this space.

New problem, we faced
as Kilrats
fired a missile from their small spacecraft
which hit our aft
rail guns,
not fun
but we hit back with our plasma gun
incinerating the cat,
just like that.

We met a friendly Space Boar
Alien race

We made an alliance

We gave them our latest neurochip technology

some damage and wear
as our City class ship is decades old

we told.

With Aliens

With a little help from pigs space.... (Aliens)

We are now in Gileise 581g orbit
due to a bit
of luck
and pluck
in applying
an Alien
given to us by biologically
porcine looking
we call HiggsPigs.

HiggsPigs Physics was more advanced
by chance.

Wormholes we gained
in exchange for enhancing
their brains
with neurochips,
so hip.

We are busy upgrading
weapons and preparing
for an attack from Space Cats
we call Kilrats.

We can now have force
fields surrounding
our city sized ship with power sourced
from our fusion core.

Much of Gliese 5981g is to be explored,
a planetary geologist wouldn't be bored.

at the young Luke

for the Dark Coder

son, I guess
and principles
have been given up for less.

they say you can't eat
and a big paycheck is hard to defeat.

Total defeat
for the Open Source Movement
is near
as AppleMicrosoft my dear
has almost all of the Codewalker
family, I fear.

The Codewalkers
are a talented bunch
that punch
above their weight.

will eat your lunch
and the AppleMicrosoft CEO's lunch
the Codewalkers
ate .

I think for Open Source, it might be too late.

I had a youth misspent reading
and memorizing
an encyclopedia prior to the internet.

Giant nerd, you get
with requisite eyewear set.

I wore glasses since I was five
and most of the time I was alive.

Prior to the internet
and fast, I read and memorized.

Now I freed that processing
space and learned to forget
which I don't regret.

I theorize
and dream
of brain extenders more integrated
so that the user interface is less complicated.

Hence the neurochip
and the neonet.

I thought if they exist I might actually get
them if they are cheap.

They ought to replace the 3R's with training the Dewey Decimal System. Machines read for us, do arithmetic for us, and write for us. But how to organize and access the tools, so that our brains need not "browse through the library stacks" every time they want to locate an information packet, is what we need.

Educational system is broken.

Neurochip and Brain
Interface Device or BID is my token
attempt at a fix that won't drain
any countries' resources or strain

Math is easy for machines
as seen
from your constant use of a lean
machine like a calculator
on a smartphone
that you own.

Reading and writing are ancient
protocols. I envision
it being supplanted by recent
neural native engram exchange
that would change
and commerce, a great leap
in man's ability to keep
and earning.

A Google in your head
with tons of data will keep you ahead.

continued from above....packet of 100 words

Man's brain
can then be freed by the neurochip
to be hip
and creative
like us drabble cast community natives
at an earlier age
rather than read page
by page
of boring text
and then next
having to fail
and wail
at exam results.

These sad kids, I cannot fault
for hating school
which I think is cool.

I was a good
student who aced exams that are rote.

I vote
to spread my good
abilities around
if everyone has found
and installed
a neurochip with so much memory
that it will be total recall
rote tests

Forever alive at the biological age of five

Immortal Lila was born with a neurochip.

A neurochip is a brain implant that is hip.

Lila's brain
didn't drain
of neurons like in the past
when kids
had to grow up so fast.

lose neurons as
they grow
due to a normal growth
cycle that we know.

Lila became a sculptor of realities
like Hollywood
at five
a great age to be forever alive
and she was good.

I subscribed to Lila's
thought stream
and Lila's
via my neonet link.

I think
I will pay
so they say
for the premium feed
to support Lila's
immortal needs.

Luke Codewalker grew
tired of coding hacks that he knew
would be used
and abused
by AppleMicrosoft
since his heart was soft
unlike his father
Anakin Codewalker
whose conscience couldn't be bothered.

AppleMicrosoft HR and Luke
was reproached
for being a softie
in AppleMicrosoft.

His father's advice
was stop being nice
and enjoy the cash.

world came to a crash
as Luke

Deadlines burned
out by design.

former friends at Open Source
saw an open sore
as Luke
betrayed them by being bad,
so sad.

had a ploy
to get disability checks.

I have to acknowledge William Gibson
and Steve Gibson
for influencing
my speculative

I do think they aren't relatives.

Neuromancer and Security Now!
are both great somehow.
I love them both
even if they aren't in the same boat.

In a previous poem, I wrote
of a young girl who voted
to stay alive
forever at the biological age of five.

When I was young I was always told
that I needed to grow old
which I resented
and I expressed dissent.

I guess , I didn't grow
as my imagination here shows
I am a kid, you know.

Gileise War .. Terran Cyborg Federation vs Kilrat Space Cats

Posted: Wed Jan 29, 2014 12:23 pm
by secretnude
Directly from hyperspace
5 Kilrat battleships we faced
each 200 meters long
and quite strong
in abilities both defensive
and offensive.

We deployed stealthy battle drones
around the potential war zone
that did hone in
on these 5 Kilrat battleships, for the win!

Fifty five AI stealthy drones did spy
weak spots our eyes
could not see and fired their rails guns
at the battleships, that are now gone.

This tactic won't last
as our enemies learn fast.

We are now manufacturing battleships
that are hip
in our City Class Orbital Defense Base
as more enemies we will definitely face.
