Actually, they do support IE9, but with slightly less functionality (IE users will never notice :roll: :twisted: ).

I take it you are using a Linux, shared host? (The answer is for the RPG. The bestest web-RPG engine requires an ASP.net-capable host (Or a lot of work to get the HTML port up to scratch).

Also, the stats that Norm forwarded show that you are running about 11% IE users. Of those how many are IE < 9? Of those, how many are hacker tools? On my servers, all but 1 instance of IE 6 and 7 (for 2013) looked to be some kind of bot.

Yup, dreamhost. Apache, php5.4, rails 3 something with Passenger.
I gotta say, they hold up better than any other shared server. Ok on CPU. Excellent on bandwidth. We use about 1.5TB (Not Tb) per month!

Stats-
IE 10 = 432 visits / mo
9 = 148
8 = 304
7 = 17
6 = 2

Yay! Death of 6!

Thanks for the stats. Guess you should still support IE 7 and 8, but they're all spambots and non-donors, I say speculate. :P

Forgot to mention here:

Hiding the Short Stories borked the advanced search, which comes in mighty handy. The simple search still works but it blows even more chunks.

Will making the stories searchable open them up to indexing, though? I imagine it might be one of those both/and deals, in which case it's better that they just stay off the search menu. Unless we split the story forum between the public and protected areas, and allow the public forum to be searched.

I might be able to affect search results based upon login status. I'll look into it.

K, I looked, and search should still be enabled for for Short Stories for registered users. Doing a quick search for Moustache works for me. Can you give me a search term that fails for you? Thanks

The advanced search does not work.

For example, try searching for the posts that Varda made in the Short Stories area; you can't do it.

Now, the closet thing you can get is searching the "Community Stories" area -- which shows that Varda made 678 of her 857 posts there -- in three different sub areas. That's a lot to filter through to find the right post.

Before the change you could use search to limit the results to the just the 37 posts (determined through other means and way more bother than most users will put up with) that she posted in Short Stories.

I see. in my tests it actually shows results in Short Stories from a broader search, but it doesn't let you select that sub-forum. I'll keep looking into it.
