Why am I getting Drabbleclassics in the main feed?

Postby SpareInch » Mon Sep 01, 2014 11:00 am

I got Drabbleclassics 6 in the main Drabblecast feed from iTunes this morning. I'm not complaining about that as such, Great story, but I am not actually subscribed to the Classics feed. Only the main feed. I suspect therefore that the files might have gotten crossed and gone to the wrong feeds.

If so, then I think I might currently be missing an episode. Presumably DC337 will be arriving in the feed soon?

Drabbleclassics 6 is not showing, for me, in either the RSS feeds for main episodes or in iTunes.

Reference:

Checking the settings, they appear to be correct, too.

What feed are you using?
What time, exactly, does iTunes say it downloaded your copy?

Code: Select all

View Options -> Show Columns "Date Added"

but I am not actually subscribed to the Classics feed

Shame on you!

As penance you must listen to continual loops of Brody Jenner Podcast episodes until you crack and donate for double DC B-sides subscriptions.

Not sure how to find the download time in iTunes, but the file itself tells me it came down today, 1 Sep 2014, at 04:02 British Summer Time (GMT+1)

I get the main feed from the European iTunes Store, which is a different server from the US store. I wonder if anyone else on the Euro iTunes server has had the same thing happen?

Well the episode went live at 02:55:16 BST ("Blasted time"?), assuming my bleary conversions are correct and then it was edited at 6:11:55 BST.

I can't see what the meta-info/media edits were, but I doubt that Charity had the feeds crossed. You must be imagining things!

Euro iTunes doesn't matter, the feed URL should be the same (DC server) and the actual audio files are located on DC's media provider. There's no separate servers for Europe.

Well, I have Classics 6 on my hard drive, that's all I know.

I suppose it is just about possible that iTunes have gliched. I'll just take it as a one off. At least, having checked the Drabblecast home page to make sure, I seem to be getting something extra, not missing something I ought to have. Glass half full & all that. :D

I looked it over. What must've happened is DCC6 accidentally got put in the main feed, then was pulled back to the DCC feed. iTunes which already had downloaded it, kept it. This is what is happening in my feed right now, even with a refresh. If I click on the feed, it's not in there. So I just deleted that individual episode in my iTunes, and all is right with the world.
