Wait, you're a Texan?

How did you end up in CA?!

(I used to live in Texas too, actually. I've visited California, but it's been a very long time.)

Texican.

Got here via a typical route1: military, wayward relatives, and California was once a lot more sexy, exciting, and promising. That was 40 years ago (But I've only been here full time for less than half of that).

Alas, the people that made California once great (on top of its natural gifts) were too busy doing just that. They never believed and didn't notice -- until their kids were corrupted and the cancer was everywhere -- that the moochers, grifters, and idiots that they so graciously supported; could wreck the place so much.

Ironically, the idiots with skills and wealth (but not enough to buy into the political machine) have been fleeing the state in droves. Can you guess that Colorado was a favorite destination?

1 For most of California. L.A. is different. It attracts narcissistic A-holes from all over the world.

I get that a lot. Whether you call it "Varda" or "mind-controlling parasites", I rather like to think I bring out the best in people.

California, land of Sutros and Hearsts.
*Sighhhh...*
When will states learn that residency should be subject to achievement testing?

Want to live here? Whatcha got to offer?
You don't think so?
You think they'll let anyone who wants to colonize the stars?

With a rusty blade? :? At least offer some whiskey first to numb the pain. :)

When will some folks learn that the only thing that matters is a name and a body that can be assigned one or more votes. What kind of heartless monster are you to deny the benefits (paid for with tax dollars) of a middle-class American lifestyle to ruthless criminals that have fled the horrible country of their birth (and creation) and infiltrated ours?

Whatcha got to offer? A vote and a culture and demographics that ensures an easily manipulated serf class for generations to come.

We're not going to colonize the stars with men such as these. "We'll colonize your mind, man."

You're most welcome. I happen to have a vacancy.

Craft beer, maybe?

...Which is exactly what's missing from my evening, now that I think about it!
