Well, are you gonna rant now, or what? Sounds like Tom wants to take you on re: Macs vs. PC's. :P

Wow, you are feisty tonight Varda! :D
I use both Macs and PCs, so what does that say about me? Bi-operating system?

My blood's thinned from too many years in Georgia. Now that it's all freezing cold here, gotta stoke a nice flame war to keep warm. :P I'm all cinched up in a hoodie Unibomber-style.

I've never been able to get used to Macs. Something about the single giant mouse button creeps me out. It's like the cyclops of the mouse world. Plus, it scrolls backwards. That's, like, morally wrong or somethin'.

First thing you do is throw out the mouse and plug in a real one.

What, it's like 0 there? Been -15 here. Take that.

I know, right? Today it only got up to 70 degrees! I almost had to take a windbreaker with me to the beach! :(

But never fear. Due to highly "cooked" (get it?) "data" coming out of NOAA (but based mostly on Russian numbers), this has been the warmest year yet!

What do you mean "like" 0 degrees?! Mr. Varda's got tomorrow off because they decided it was too cold to open the high school! Obviously, Strawman's frozen solid out in the cotton field where he lives, which is why he hasn't said anything yet! I call that plenty cold!

Besides, the thermometer doesn't even go below "0". That's just silly. :P

Wat the hell? It's 12 degrees there now, and they closed the SCHOOLS? You didn't tell me you were ABOVE 0.
Did you even get snow? :P :P

Oh come on! We get snow too. We just drive up to the mountains, spend a sunny day skiing down miles-long slopes, then drive back to our almost-never-freezes neighborhood and soak in the hot tub. You can do it all in a day if you're frisky.

So, instead of whining about a little fun weather, just drive to your world-class ski resort, in the next county, and enjoy! :D

Hey, PRK, I hear Kim Jong Un has built a theme park too.

Good. You check out his and see if it's as good as he and Dennis Rodman claim.

I'll check out a few in the People's Republic of Kalifornia. We'll compare postcards and see who wins.

However, we were talking about ski resorts, not theme parks. Same deal applies, when (if) you get back from North Korea, I'll send you down some killer double-black-diamond runs in the Sierra Nevadas. You be the judge of the best slopes. ;)

Define "you"....

The trouble is, since it almost never gets below 50 around here, most of us don't have proper cold-weather clothing. For example, I've got a great wind-burn around my ankles because none of my running pants are full-length, and I don't have enough respect for the barometer. :P

I think the logic with Mr. Varda's school is that, because of the specific population they deal with (special ed servicing several extremely poor rural counties), the children would be very unprepared for the record low temps. But really, we all know they just wanted to extend their Christmas break.

I hope you know I'm saving this post for the next time you ever whine about living in Paradise.

Oh wait! You already did!

HEY ASID YOU CAN'T CALL IT THAT BECAUSE REMEMBER WHAT YOU SAID THAT ONE TIME ABOUT THE SKI SLOPES AND HOT TUBS AND BEACHES AND STUFF!

Alas, heaven and hell overlap. California has some of the best climate and geography in the world -- if a tad too little water.
But it's so infested with hippies and Democrats that they're rapidly turning it into a banana republic.

We're on the "Detroit plan" -- and from the same scum that wrecked that city, and most of its host state.

Hippies AND Democrats? You get ALL the cool people there! Man, that place really is Heaven on Earth!

I bet Bigfoot lives there too, along with that kid who's totally not dead in the ocean somewhere. No fair.

Yep, the modern bigfoot was invented in California (but modeled after the Yeti claims). And yes, there are a large number of "interesting" people here of all types. It's proof that "cool" does not equal "wise" or "good" in any respect.

Come on out if you dare.

PS: You are very diabolical. Here I am talking up California when I want to neutron-bomb three of its cities. Normally, I brag about my home state (Texas, it makes me oh so popular at parties); how the blazes did I get suckered into praising my current residence?
