These days, I'm completely blind. (Long illness. Very boring.) There are things about these days called Screen Readers. They take text from the screen and run it through a speech engine. I use one called VoiceOver, which is built into Apple's OS X and iOS operating systems. All I need to do is push the VoiceOver cursor from item to item on the screen using the arrow keys, and whatever it is on gets spoken aloud.
