The new "Journey Into..." podcast
The new "Journey Into..." podcast
Well, it's official. I have formally thrown my hat into the podcasting ring by posting the first episode of the "Journey Into..." podcast.
Journey Into... will feature replays of old time radio (OTR) shows like X Minus One, Suspense, Lights Out, etc. And, once a month (hopefully), it will also feature full cast readings of new and classic stories, as well as new flash fiction.
This first one is an OTR from the sci-fi anthology show X-Minus One, with a story writtien by Ray Bradbury. It will be folowed up next week by an original story, Cyberpunk by D.K. Thompson, done up in full audio production. Future journeys include stories from other great authors like Tim Pratt, David Barr Kirtley, and Greg van Eekhout. There will also be some classic speculative stories from people like E.M. Forster and Edgar Alllan Poe.
Anyway, check it out and hopefully you'll stick around for many journeys to come.

Hmm.. Don't seem to be able to get a podcast out of it. The RSS doesn't have iTunes-compatible content.

heh OK, I just submitted the feed to iTunes as a podcast. I forgot that part. If there is more I need to do, I don't shy away from advice.

Fantastic! That works. I've looked around the webpage, but I haven't found that link before. Where is it?

Re: The new "Journey Into..." podcast
No, I will not use this forum as a weekly promotion for my new podcast, but Drabblecast's art director, Bo Kaier, provided some killer episode art for this week's story, Cyberpunk by D.K. Thompson. Go check it out here.
btw Tom, I have updated the site and indicated the feed url for future interested parties. Also, Journey Into... is now listed in the iTunes Store. Now I need to work on a subscribe button for the site.

Bo Kaier is the frikkin man. There's a mansion with 50 wives waiting for him in Drabblecast heaven.swamp wrote: Drabblecast's art director, Bo Kaier, provided some killer episode art for this week's story, Cyberpunk by D.K. Thompson. Go check it out here.

Not that I don't think wives are good and everything, but... oh wait, you said Drabblecast heaven. Okay, yeah that makes perfect sense.

I think even the cool kids would get tired if I pimped it week after week.tbaker2500 wrote:Why not pimp it here? This is where to cool kids hang out.

Thanks all. Fun subjects make it easy to create strong art. Go give Cyberpunk a listen.
Re: The new "Journey Into..." podcast
For all of you Nathaniel Lee fans, I just put up his story "In Spite of Himself" here. It's a fun little story.
Re: The new "Journey Into..." podcast
It's been a while since I posted a shameless plug here, but I figured the Drabblecast crew would like to get as much of Norm as they could. The latest Journey Into... features Norm Sherman as the voice of reason in a strange western dystopia in "When The Black Bird CIrcles Back" by Greg van Eekhout. I was so glad to have Norm read this part because when I first read the story, I heard Norm's voice in my head as Doc Gish. Check it out.
