Feature: The Carnival Was Eaten, All Except the Clown by
Caroline M. Yoachim
Drabble: Flotsam and Jetsam by
Norm Sherman
Genres: Fantasy Strange

The magician’s table was covered by a sheet of plywood, four feet square, completely wrapped up in aluminum foil. Sugar magic was messy magic, and the foil made for easier cleanup. Scattered across the aluminum were misshapen chunks of candy, the seeds from which the carnival would grow. And grow it did.

Is it just me, or do Very Bad Things happen to the audio around 16:22 for everyone else?

Things get a little weird. I get double audio for a minute or so. Norm doing the outro over the story. Anyone else get this too or do I need to redownload?
Thanks in advance all.

Fun philosophical question where do the rights of sentient life begin and the rights of the creator end? The magician did not give life, he sold it for destiny. Was he right to do so? Does carnival (creation) have any right to dictate terms to the magician (creator)?
I reserve the right to be wrong and use it frequently.

Yes, yes, there was an audio screwup. But can we get past this?
The actual story was interesting, and I was shocked - shocked, I say! - at the happy-ish ending for the protagonist. Nice surprise.

Sorry bout that, don't know how I missed. It all should be fixed by Saturday now though, the m4a kept uploading as the old file for some reason, had to rename the file to make it stick.

I finally got to listen to it. Everything sounded fine and dandy to me!
Loved the story btw. Made me think I need a sugar girl that melts in your mouth and not in your hands... does it count as canibalism if shes sugar?
Er... I mean that this was a fabulous coming of age story and I enjoyed every minute!

"Sugar magic is messy magic" would probably be a good pick-up line, especially when unexpectedly whispered.

I've heard of a sugar daddy, but a sugar girl?
I kept expecting this story to try and hit my over the head with some morals, but it didn't. I was pleasantly surprised. Weird enough to be enjoyable with hints of deeper meanings.
You're my quasi-ichthian angel, you're my half-amphibian queen...
The Dribblecast, we don't care if you sound like an idiot.

Ah, I rather liked the idea of sugar-magic and the world building surrounding this concept. I am also very pleased to see a Drabblecast-feature involving clowns where the clown in question is one of the sweetest and most kind-hearted characters there -- how's that for a twist?
