What's with all the pigs?
What's with all the pigs?
Has anyone else noticed that there is a disproportionate amount of hog/pig drabblenews stories on the podcast? I've counted three drabblenews stories and at least one fiction piece. Interesting...

I'm sitting here in MN and loved the drabblenews about the pigs, and I thought Norm had the MN accent deal down pretty good. He sounded like a freaking Swedish immigrant. I remember when Fargo came out and some Minnesotans whined about how the people and dialect was portrayed by the Coen brothers. Great stuff.

Bloody contentlink advertising - annoying isn't it? If you want to disable it: when one of the ad bubbles pops up, click on the "?" in the top right and it'll take you to a page where you can disable it (right at the bottom of course). Nowhere near as creative as spam.normsherman wrote:What the hell is up with all these random links???

Yeah, I guess you're right if you consider the news came from Austin in sunny, southern Minnesota - I was thinking Norm sounded more like someone from up in the Iron Range.bolddeceiver wrote:Oh really? As someone who has lived in MN, I thought Norm's try at the accent was, to be frank, pretty awfulNo offense meant.

Done and done. Thanks Phillippa. Although, I'm kinda gonna miss seeing everyone 's posts decorated with bold words. Maybe we should just keep it up.Philippa wrote:Bloody contentlink advertising - annoying isn't it? "Give us all some Jelly"
I would just like to point out that the four generated ads at the top of my screen as I viewed the drabblenews forum were:
Pig Nutrition
Used Slaughterlines
All About Pigs
and Swine Breeding Exporter
What is a slaughterline, and why would I want a used one? I guess I could find out by visiting the ad...
EDIT: I kind of wish I had left that one to the imagination.

Yes, but in my case it involves using firefox with a few good extensions. Alternatively, a well configured privoxy can do wonders, too.normsherman wrote:Is there a way to get rid of them for good?Philippa wrote: Bloody contentlink advertising - annoying isn't it? I didn't know what everyone was complaining about until I looked at the site from my work machine one day.
