self-searching
No, I'm not trying to "find myself" in any sort of spiritual or metaphysical way, but I am looking for the episodes that my drabbles and twabbles appeared in.
When I searched the main DC page for "Lidster" it did bring up my first appearance where "Yarn" appeared, but not any of the other ones. (I'm trying to find the episode with "The Storyteller" which appeared during H.P.Lovecraft month, specifically, but I'd like to be able to find all of them.
Searching for ROU, or ROU Killing Time also didn't do the trick, (as I imagine that "killing" and "time" are pretty common words which bolloxed up the search.)
Any hints on how I could get a complete listing so I can satisfy my vanity, ASID?

Oooooh yes!ROU Killing Time wrote:Any hints on how I could get a complete listing so I can satisfy my vanity, ASID?

What?! "Polite company"?! Durn...
Unfortunately, the main page search only works well for tags and Drabble authors are usually not tagged. Twabble authors never are.
The forum entries are mixed as to style, completeness, and dead links. (I clean them up when I otherwise need to edit them, but a concerted push is on hold pending other projects for Norm, which are way behind schedule). Searching the forum is also problematic due to the usual chatter, quotes, etc. that all forums have and the abysmal quality of phpBB search.
You can get much closer with a GrabAll search. EG:
Google: Lidster Submissions site:drabblecast.org
But that will get some duplicates and false positives.
The good bots over at ISFDB do a fairly good job of scraping the DC entries.
See Steve Lidster's author page at ISFDB, for example.

How about "View your posts" on the User Control panel?

That's not going to help him find which stories, drabbles, and twabbles actually made it onto the show.
Re: self-searching
Okay. But part of that problem is his Notorious Forum Hoggedness. He probably remembers which ones were used, so he can find the post date and check the show for that period. Reading all 4000+ of your own post...good times.

I said I wanted to satisfy my vanity, not overdose on it. Thanks for the tips, ASID. I'll give it a go.strawman wrote:Okay. But part of that problem is his Notorious Forum Hoggedness. I can only imagine the thrill that comes with actually getting a story (as opposed to a drabble or twabble) accepted for the august halls of The Drabblecast.Algernon Sydney is Dead wrote:That's not going to help him find which stories, drabbles, and twabbles actually made it onto the show.

August is Lovecraft, for whom the thrill is gone. But the September halls are available.ROU Killing Time wrote: I can only imagine the thrill that comes with actually getting a story (as opposed to a drabble or twabble) accepted for the august halls of The Drabblecast.
Seriously, if I'd known how awesome episode 340 was going to turn out, I would have tried out for it.

I think we all know that without a 100 word fence around me that I tend to ramble. Also, anything longer suffers from terminal mediocrity, except when I write auto biographically, but honestly, who wants to read that?strawman wrote:August is Lovecraft, for whom the thrill is gone. Hey, it worked for Caesar, didn't it? Two millennia later, and he's still in print!

ROU, when will your latin edition be available?

I actually worry quite a bit that my desire to tell my story could easily be another case of over-optimism mixed with delusions of grandeur that it would be of interest to anyone beyond my own, quite minuscule, fan-base.strawman wrote:Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres.

Asterix and Obelix were my favorites in French class. Almost made up for the fact they think Jerry Lewis is a comic genius.
