Take Me To Your Leader

Post by eric_marsh » Sun Nov 21, 2010 1:57 pm

"Take me to your leader," said the first alien. "We have traveled for 30,000 years, after we detected electromagnetic radiation from this world. We had thought ourselves alone in the universe."

"The humans have no leader," replied the robot. "Their's is a perfect egalitarian society."

"What are you?" asked the alien.

"The humans created us to do their work and care for all of their needs."

"Take us to a human." said the alien.

"As you wish." said the robot. Leading them to a building, it opened a door and looked inside. "But first I must change his diaper."

Hmmm. The Left had favored the government to do all the diaper changing. The Right said, "Each man should change his own diapers."

Robots were the compromise?

Clever! Or maybe robot health care kills everybody over the age of 12...

Because 12 was the age at which the humans finally had it with robots changing their diapers, and started The Pee Party movement.

Was this one too subtle? I find that hard to believe with this crowd but the responses don't seem to reflect the deeper issue(s) that I had in mind. Or are you guys just messing with me?

Good to know that 30,000 years in the future people will still be people. Or maybe not.

I understand. Make your mess and leave others to clean up. But what if "transhuman" is zombies?

Besides, you need to stick around for Lovecraft Drabble month.

Immanentize the bloody Eschaton.
If you're serious, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transhumanism has a lot of "deeper issues" to discuss.

Of course it's a profound issue to decide to become something other than what nature made one. Talk about taking one's destiny into one's own hands. But as one who doesn't believe in gods and such I guess that if I want one I just need to become one. :D Seriously, it looks to me like the only game in town if I want to survive more than a few more turns around the local star. So why not? It makes me wish I were born just a few years later.

Sounds like there's a storyline in there somewhere.

Perhaps a Jewish mom complaining to her son because he hasn't found a nice Jewish girl and settled down? Pan to her boy who's a machine human cyborg hybrid who tells her, "Mom, the world has changed. People don't live like that any more...." naw... Prolly been done before.
