Economic Realities
Prison ships ain’t supposed to be comfortable, but that damn professor’s babbling didn’t help. Murdered his family, then lectures us? Great. “Prison planets don’t make sense!” he protested through his newly broken nose. “The economics don’t even justify the fuel, let alone the whole infrastructure!”...

Children are creepy, man. One minute they'll be smiling and playing, then they'll stop and look at you and say "Will you be dead soon?" and then they're off shrieking and laughing again.

That was really, really well-done. Great story, fantastic narration. I listened to it on a long drive, and I don't know what I would have done if I'd passed a Chevy Celeb on the way...

Most enjoyable. I spent the whole time convinced that the real test was some reaction to the fingerprinted paper. The real ending was a pleasant surprise.

Re: Drabblecast 234 – Jagannath
Was everyone picturing humanoids? Or something odder? My imagination has this set in the year 2200, and on earth, where humans have entered a symbiotic relationship with colossal aliens. As this story is told, the deal struck is ancient enough that oral tradition remembers nothing before its incept...

Re: Get Out The Vote
First post a drabble! Well done. A nice drabble, too, though I had to read the last sentence a couple times to get it. Also, you might consider changing "religiously" to "faithfully" or "dutifully" -- I think that the latter have more of a sense of "doing it because you have to"? (Also, part of me i...
