Re: Drabblecast 411 – Wholesale Solution
I enjoyed this one! At first I was almost put off by how chaotic the beginning was, but once the back and forth between Clay and the AI started I was hooked, who doesn't love sassy/sinister computer programs talking to humans in their scifi. I'm intrigued that it's part of a series, because it certa...

Loved this episode! I read (listened to) Kraken by China Mieville a few years ago, also wonderfully weird, I must read (listen to) his other novels. Liked how this story captured that desire to matter and also the desire to be of no consequence, I know I feel both ways off and on.

Hiding from the Coronavirus.
I live and teach English in China, and I haven't left the house except to walk my dog for 3 weeks, hiding from the Coronavirus. My city Changsha isn't nearly as bad as the centre of it all Wuhan, here it's just people and communities self-quarantining themselves mostly. Some of my friends' communiti...

Re: Drabblecast 409: The Dandelion Man by Jack Nicholls
Loved this story! That ending, wow, incredible! After The Translator I thought, man, science fiction, that's my jam, give me all spaceship stories all the time. And then I almost almost wished that the Drabblecast was an all scifi story show. And then this amazing story comes to punish me for my foo...

Re: Drabblecast 403- The Translator
I loved this story! I tend to listen to a novel, return to the Drabblecast and listen to a bunch of stories, then start another novel. So I just returned to the Drabblecast and this story was amazing and reminded me why I love the Drabblecast all over again. Loved the descriptions of the gas aliens,...

Re: Drabblecast 393 - Diamante and Strass
Just listened to this one! I really liked it, every sentence was packed with all this wacky colourful scifi stuff, it never let up for a minute. I feel it's a good example of a story that could only work in prose (or audio), cos seeing all that stuff with your eyes wouldn't bring the same sense of s...

I can't believe I remembered my forum password after 7 years! I don't think I've used this account since the 2012 Mega Beast Death Match tournament, Cricket Bat we hardly knew ye.
Loved this story, the Clear And Present Danger line had me rolling.

Re: MBDM 2012 R4 Necromander vs Barracade vs Mr. D'ed
Sharing what I just posted on the facebook, Mr D'Ed has got this. He's an old school tv show hero and old school tv show heroes always find a way to win in the end. I remember this came up in the Velasquez round a few years ago. Every so often a Mega-Beast comes along who is more than a mere Mega-Be...

Really liked this story! Any chance we'll get to see Nicky's other Traleel story The Aubergine Wok in a future B-Sides? Not sure I've seen a genuine sequel on the Drabblecast before, but that's what B-Sides is for right, bending the rules.

I see Sucker-Paunch swallowing Flamingoliath early and growing enormous himself. Might take him some time to ingest such a big meal though.

Re: MBDM 2012 - Round 11
Wow Bo, that drawing of Cricket Bat is sweet! So cool you picked him. The other beasts all look badass too of course. I think Cricket Bat could win this heat. His defensive skills could perpetually deal with boomerangs, talons, stingers and hardened corpse cudgels. But I can't tell if his seriousnes...

Re: MBDM 2012 - Beast Suggestions [take 2]
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I thought suggesting a Mega Beast would be a good way to get involved! I noticed some people talking about cricket before, cricket is the best. How about Cricket-Bat , a half-cricket, half-bat humanoid creature that walks around in an old fashioned cricket uniform ...
