Re: The Problem with Time Travel
(Seriously: have you ever read a time-travel story that takes into account the fact that the Earth turns and moves around the sun? Go one hour either way, and earth is 66,600 miles away....) Why, yes. A stunningly brilliant twabble :D , on this very theme, was posted here . Also, the whole solar sy...

The Problem with Time Travel
Drifting, Alan realized where all the probes had gone. He had traveled in time. Meanwhile, Earth had traveled in space. (Seriously: have you ever read a time-travel story that takes into account the fact that the Earth turns and moves around the sun? Go one hour either way, and earth is 66,600 mile...

I liked this one, and not just because it fit the ancient Near Eastern theme so well. The quantum machine vs. ancient demon battle was a bit of a stretch for me, but I deeply enjoyed the alternate explanation behind Babel, even if I kept waiting to see how new languages would be introduced, as in th...

Babylon Battle of the Bands - Lyrics
Back in the day, a long time ago Before Alex the Great made himself CEO And bought up the world and all of it's rock and roll And then watered it down, pre-packaged and sold it Homogenized, monopolized, commercially controlled it— I remember a time when rock and roll wasn't always So plebian, so pac...

Drabble News Into Sound
I love the Drabblecast. But I wince whenever Drabble News is announced — not because of the news content itself, but because of the loud CH-CH-CH-CHEK DIS. It's just such an out-of-place grating sound that I actually take my headphones off when I hear it coming. On the other hand, I love the little ...

Question: I'm messing with mics and EQ a little- did anyone think "too loud or too soft" in regards to the music or narration? Did S's sizzle a bit too much in the narration? Depending on if your in a car, with ipod/headphones, at laptop or at a desktop there can be a big difference in the balance ...

Beautiful, haunting, fascinating. All though both met the same end, one wonders at the aims and purposes of each character—whether the ship's self-sacrifice on the altar of knowledge, or the man's determination to dictate the last of his days on his own terms—made any difference in the light of eter...
