Re: Drabblecast 336 - The Mouth of God
I really enjoyed this story. Two things that struck me: David's voice and inflection, at times, reminded me of Garrison Keillor - not in a bad way, of course! This story also kind of reminded me of a much darker, less absurd version of "Angel of the Ordinary", featured in Drabblecast 183. Protagonis...

Re: Drabblecast 249 – Jimmy’s Roadside Cafe
and the idea that I-95 is in California suggests that more of the continent fell into the Pacific in the earthquake than was intended under the president's Earthquake Stimulus Program. I thought the intent was that I-95's NOT in California... he lied to her, because California's where she wanted to...

Re: Drabblecast 246 – The Kidney
For some reason, I found this story really unsettling. I quite thoroughly enjoyed it, but the awkwardness of the whole situation and the damn thing following them everywhere had me practically shifting in my seat with the urge to get away. It was a very odd feeling to have the story evoke.

Re: Drabblecast 241 - The Dead
I am the King under the Mountain, and... Wait. No. No, that's not it at all. I really enjoyed this story. I felt like it had some predictability to it, starting from the boxing match. In my mind, I could see the framework that the protagonist was living in and the suspense mostly came from what his ...

Re: Drabblecast 240 - Trifecta XXI
Wendigo Bake Sale is my favorite of these three. I don't get the point of Divorce in the House of Flies. It's appropriately Kafkaesque, but simply reminds me that some teens relate to their parents this way, and some teens drop acid; and I wonder if it's Kafkaesque or if Dustin is one of those teen...

Re: Drabblecast 202 / 203 - Boojum
Finally, my Zune is back and I've caught up on the Drabblecast - and what a chunk of episodes to catch! I really liked Boojum. I'll confess, I was kind of expecting a darker ending than the one we got - this being the Drabblecast, after all - but I still really liked how it turned out. I almost felt...

Re: Drabblecast 161- Higher than Usual
Maybe fluoride? We can't really tell-- but I think the title refers to higher than usual tempers and violence. Do you know when they started fluoridation, Norm. 1947. How does that coincide with your post war communist conspiracy? Watch those precious bodily fluids. Drink rain water, or distilled w...

Re: Drabblecast 158- Dr. Diablo Goes Through the Motions
I don't remember if I'm allowed to curse in posts here, so. Holy freaking smokes! The opening Drabblecast News bit was AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I'll confess, I usually dislike Norm's singing (I'm really sorry, but I'm a vocal performance major and your way of singing just gets on my nerves, even tho...

I loved the story, and I love the Halloween cheesy-themed intro and outro. They seemed, however, to be pretty jarringly at odds with one another. The story was kind of creepy (at least, the first half of it) and pretty absorbing, and then at the end the silliness of the outro just kind of... killed ...
