Re: Drabblecast 283 – The Man Who Drew Cats
I just wanted to join the chorus of praise for this story. I found it very moving and I think it will stick with me a while. The atmosphere, the flavor of the story if you will, is what's lingering in my mind. It kind of got under my skin. Also, poor Tom (of the story not the forums :D). I kind of w...

One of the most spectacularly weird stories I've heard on here. Fantastic stuff, though sad. Great imagery.

Holy carp, this episode has just been amazing. I haven't finished it, but I felt compelled to come express my gratitude. From the writing down to the production, sterling work. A fabulous piece of fiction & audiofiction. Love the cover art too, but am extra amused that the art that stayed displayed ...

Re: Drabblecast 238 - From The Lost Diary Of TreeFrog7
I enjoyed the story and liked the concept of an MCPU plant, but was confused by the ending. Can anyone tell me what it meant? What happened to the protagonists?
Unless the point was the plant was gaining knowledge of all these far away places by eating/uploading the people?

Really enjoyed this. Kinda struck me as a companion piece of sorts to this EscapePod episode (Tim Pratt's Unexpected Outcomes).

Best Trifecta ever. A perfect storm of weirdness! 'Boot' in particular made me giggle, particularly the last line, which I somehow didn't see coming.
Loooved the concept of the first story as well. Deliciously silly. And again, great last line.

Re: Drabblecast 215 - Dread Unlocks
Enjoyed the story, but was derailed by my dislike for the protagonist. Yes the news guy was odious, but it's not like he was killing kittens with his bare hands or something. I think... there's a basic level of something that humans need, and he wasn't getting it, and her denying him it just made me...

Re: Drabblecast 213 - The Haunter of the Dark
I have now read/heard exactly two Lovecraft stories, both due to Drabblecast. :p Pretty creepy, I enjoyed them, but not necessarily enough to seek out more of his stuff - his writing style's a little overwrought for my tastes.
Keen for those commissioned stories! Last year's were so good.

Re: Drabblecast 211 - At the End of the Hall
Wow, truly spectacular. Mr. Mamatas' stories don't usually gel with me for whatever reason, but this absolutely blew me away. You could really feel her triumph there at the end. At the end of her life coming full circle with having her childhood dream realized.. Really dug the Sigur Ros music too, a...

Holy Cephalopods did that episode achieve epic quantities of weird. :P Good thing too 'cause I was jonesing. :p Really enjoyed the rather unusual format of both pieces, in particular 'A Day Out' because really, who DOESN'T love 'Choose Your Own Adventures'? Someone needs to write such a series for a...

Good point about Dog Collar, he did seem alright. Not really sure how to feel about it all now. I expect that ambiguity is part of the point
At least Alice and the Boojum won.

Oh man. I liked the whole thing, but what really sold it for me was the conclusion. It was rewarding on multiple levels. The bad guys - and it was revealed just how bad - got theirs, and the protagonist got a strange but fulfilling new future she couldn't possibly have imagined. Loved finally getti...

So I hear you weirdos like clowns.
In which case you really must check out this week's StarShipSofa, episode 182. It features a clown story by Will McIntosh that's absolutely wonderful. And yes, there are even baby clowns in it. If that's not enough to convince you, at one point the phrase is uttered, "some of my best friends are Spi...

Re: Drabblecast 200 - The Last Question by Isaac Asimov
The couple Asimov stories I've been exposed to have been a bit dry/too hard sci-fi for my personal tastes, but hearing this one in audio, particularly as well executed as done here, made the story a lot more accessible for me. Really enjoyed it, great job everybody.

Re: Drabblecast 198 - Love in the Pneumatic Tube Era
Generally I abhor romantic stories, for the totally mature reason that they make me feel like a loser for my perpetual singlehood. This story was much too clever and lovely to scorn for self-pitying reasons, though. I think because it didn't dwell on the sap, but rather celebrated the tiny intimate ...
