I quite liked this. Clever idea for a monster.
I wonder though, why was the boy wearing floppy ears? Was he a real dog, or a boy pretending to be a dog?

Damascus
Sitting by the windows I watch the stars. The engine hums and everyone is asleep. The Damascus marches onwards, towards a distant star. We left behind the ashes of our fathers on Terra, trekking onwards into the inky black. I, the captain’s son, have taken his place. Piloting the Damascus is easy. I...

Drawing from the Drabblecast?
I've been thinking about making an audio fiction podcast recently, and I'm working on compiling a set of stories I want to read and produce on the show. I'm going to do a mixture of original stories by me, stories in the public domain, and if possible, some stories taken from writing forums such as ...

Re: Contradictions
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had every...

Contradictions
My prompt was to write a story in which every sentence contradicted the last. Hope y'all enjoy! Contradictions John walked down the city street. The tires on his bike were flat, and the alley smelled of cigarettes and garbage. She buttoned up her shirt, and walked into the massive skyscraper where s...

Re: Drabblecast 292 – Hollow As The World
I, honestly, didn't really like the story. To me, it just felt like a glorified "CreepyPasta", and it never truly felt very Lovecraftian. I kept waiting, and it never came. I was really hoping for a cool Lovecraft-ish video game story, but for me, this came up short.

Re: Pleasure
I shook it around, making it vibrate. She eminated a pure, clear tone of pleasure. I rubbed her neck. I sure love guitars. Mispellerized. It's emanated . Fun idea, though. So you (re)string your love (along)? She sang my tune. She could tell I was treble, and a bass character too, but no big...

I never thought about that... but I like the idea.MonsieurMoustache wrote:I find it interesting someone bothered to erect a clearly ineffectual fence around it...my guess is he wasn't the first one to get there, and the first one didn't want to hang around long enough to build an effective barrier...

[No Tresspassing/ Lovecraft Theme] Chosen
I climbed over the high, chain link fence. The moon cast a pallid glow over everything. It was so bright. The large crater ringed by withered trees was just where I had left it. Not that it would have moved. After years of studying must old tomes and ancient folklore, I was finally ready. I jumped d...

Welcome aboard, Andrew Styles! PS: I'm a little disappointed that nobody's made any "Quick on the draw(ing)" jokes yet. Glad to be onboard Algernon. I hope to have my first ever published work in the Drabblecast before the end of the month! A short story I'm working on. Anyway, off topic. Still ADO...

Re: Drabblecast 284 – Turning Point
i thought the "Assimilation" was a bit jarring. Genocide was discussed, and all of a sudden, they just become integrated. Other than that, I found the story a bit scary. Imagine if they weren't so peaceful! What a great story, and all in all, I liked it.

Mark died, but the song kept playing. When he said he wished that "Friday" would never end, he meant the day, not the song.

Re: Drabblecast 283 – The Man Who Drew Cats
I too, created an account solely to talk about this story! And man, do I love it! I listened to it twice. The mood created by the author was superb. It was dark, somber, and beautiful. The writing was elegant, without being pretentious or preachy. Rather than focusing on the supernatural, it was mor...
