Very, very nice use of dramatic irony. I love this one.

Re: Sole Survivors

The real question is do you want to wash them again and look for their mates or just throw them all in the trash?
That's why I only wear gray socks.

Thanks for that, Desmond. I'm glad I can listen to the episode now. Hopefully that link can be repaired in the coming months.

Drabblecast 382?
Does this exist? I've almost caught up to the end of the Drabblecast archives, but it appears there's a missing episode.

The prayer that Leia was reciting from was the Three Blessings prayer. Blessed are You, God, our Lord, King of the universe, who has not made me a non-Jew (goyim). Blessed are You, God, our Lord, King of the universe, who has not made me a woman. Blessed are You, God, our Lord, King of the universe,...

Re: Still alive?
I'm hoping it's a burnout, and I hope Norm is okay, wherever he is. And hopefully he'll return one day with a story to tell. It would have been very nice for this Podcast to have been folded into the Escape Pod collective like Cast of Wonders. I'm a bit disappointed that didn't happen. It would have...

Great tribute, Xiovox. I hope wherever Norm is, he's okay. I'd like to know that he is alright, if nothing else.
Maybe he's just trapped between dimensions in some dark waiting room, waiting on a backwards-talking midget for permission to leave.

Re: Amazon to produce The Culture series
I'm cautiously optimistic about this. On one hand, I'm glad it's happening and I'm glad either Amazon or Netflix got the rights to produce it. On the other hand, Consider Phlebas is being adapted, and that makes me nervous. Consider Phlebas was the odd duck of the series. It's hard to imagine Hora B...

Re: Drabblecast 376 – A Last Kiss for Lazarus Winters (A Saint Darwin’s Spiritual)
I loved this story, and the narration was excellent. It really added to the piece. Something about this story bugged me. I couldn't figure out what. Then it hit me: this is a sequel to St. Darwin's Spirituals, which ran as a special Halloween episode of Escape Pod (episode 264, Oct 2010). So, if any...

I enjoyed that one too. I'm happy to see the Drabblecast is on a more regular schedule now. I just hope it doesn't get cocked up.Well, that should put paid to any allegations about Drabblecast being too grown up and mature these days. A great laugh. I was cackling all the way through.

Nice to hear another episode. I was really beginning to worry about the onset of Podcast rot, so it's encouraging to hear another episode. Sorry about hearing about your girlfriend and job, Norm. I'm not which order to put those two in, but that's going to leave a mark. I've been there. It sucked. I...

Re: Artificial Intelligence software produces nightmare images
There was a painter in Edwardian England, Louis Wain, who painted cats. He also had schizophrenia. As the schizophrenia progressed, his cats went from cute to bizarre geometric shapes not even resembling cats. http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/creatology/files/2011/12/Wain_cats_6.jpg There's somet...

Artificial Intelligence software produces nightmare images
Here's the link to Google explaining their 'neural net' Deep Dream AI software and how it recognizes and produces images. And here are the images Deep Dream generates as it peers into a nightmare gateway into another dimension. I'm not saying humanity should destroy all computers now while we still...

Three good stories, but On the Nose had to be my favorite. Casey Regan didn't have that many lines in the story, but she really had excellent delivery on those lines. I was really impressed with her.

Re: Drabblecast 359 - Trifecta: Unnatural Growth
That just kept on getting increasingly creepy. I didn't think that anything would top the second story, about Prometheus's horribly cancerous liver, but that third story really ratcheted it up. Very nice production values on this story as well. It's nice to see guest producers on the show. This week...
