Re: Drabblecast 336 - The Mouth of God
WOW!! Usually I get perturbed when Norm doesn't read the piece - and this was a definite exception. I'm usually not one for a background production, however, in this case, the shifts in the ambient backgrounds were very helpful for me in navigating between the dream states and storyline. Ooooh la la...

Re: Drabblecast 310 – The Ugly Chickens
Fantastic. There are some real gems in here - I should have marked it to double check, but I'm pretty sure the simile was "like a zen pork statue". Had a fantastically good laugh at the dance of the dodo set to Pachabel's Canon. The detailed descriptions of the dodo paintings were a hoot. I was deli...

Beautifully written. Gorgeous piece. A beautifully flawed china doll. She reminded me of Connie in "Where are you going, where have you been" by Joyce Carrol Oates.

Loved it. Fantastic capitalist - an excellent opportunist! And to play the big, scary thing by feeding its ego. That just made it really work. Home Office will be delighted.

Oh I'm so going to hell for enjoying this so much. Wondering, if I believe Lord Xenu's media lies and bargain with my soul, could I trade it for singing as beautifully as Sheena Majdan.

New Zombie-Ant Fungi Found
I love Drabblecast, where else could I share that I thought this was just fascinating?! More on zombie ants: in this case, after zombifying the ant, "ultimately, the fungus produces a long stalk that protrudes from the ant's head, shooting spores out". How dramatic :o http://www.livescience.com/1304...

Re: B Sides 12 - Snuggle the Dead
Hilarious. Very cool story. The suburban, overweight, pathetic woman seemed an obvious market for the club. But I want to throw in the mix that this actually reminded me of an ex-boyfriend, who I still refer to as Mr. PDA. He always wanted to sit all squished up together on the same side of the boot...

Re: Drabblecast 194 - A Distant Sound of Hammers
Heard the disclaimer and rushed to dry my hands to hit forward on the touch screen, but stopped when I heard the name "Kate Baker"! Such lovely prose for such a gruesome lament. A sweet fit for Kate's melancholy precision in sharing brave new worlds. I listened twice, attempting on the second round ...

Re: Drabblecast 182- Trifecta XIV
I liked the Evil Robot Monkey story best of all. Would you rather be a smart monkey in a cage, or a stupid monkey in a cage? Thanks for the reply. I get it now. That does help me get the point. Smart monkey. Thinking it may increase my odds of survival. Either way, its a crappy choice. Oh dear, mus...

Re: Drabblecast 182- Trifecta XIV
I thought Evil Robot Monkeys was the weaker of the 3 choices for this most excellent Trifecta. Who needs the Hugo committee anyway, when you have the Drabblecast picks. I really tried to feel sympathy for the monkey; a little tear jerking backstory on how it got the bad attitude might have helped me...

Re: B Sides 9 - In Search of the Mongolian Deathworm
This is absolutely hilarious. I started crying at the Oh Holy Night. The combination of the funny story and Connor's spot-on reading is awesome. Everything about this was great - I'm not even worthy to say anything other than that. I can just compare it to Monty Python, Venture Brothers on clevernes...

Re: Episode #11 (I think) Nyarlothotep
Wow. Thanks for turning me onto this story. I was sucked in. The production was thoughtful and well-executed and greatly enhanced the story, making it easier to enjoy the savory bits of wordplay ("pale pitying moon" ,"corpses of dead worlds with sores that were cities", "the terrible city of unnumbe...

Re: Drabblecast 169- The Reenactment by Ben H. Winters
Clever , witty! Love that its a modern take on a classic format. Nice flow and perfect reading of the story had me building up to the twist in eager anticipation. On the edge of my seat, with my concern not for our "incarnated spirit of a hero" but my fear being, well, that the story would wuss out ...
