Re: One Hell of A Terrible Playmate
This was great, and I agree that the sudden classical twist is done well.

Re: Frozen Time
I'm very flattered by the response this has had. I don't think I'll write any sequels to this though, as it would logically conclude with his beard becoming so large that the escape pod can't contain it, making it break through the tiny window and him being sucked into the void.

Loved this! I always like it when standard fantasy things like mirrors or lanterns are shown in a new light.

Frozen Time
People have described empty hours as vast oceans of time, but that doesn’t work. Oceans are filled with complex currents and swirls below the surface. No, the empty hours are glaciers: huge, solid, inching infinitesimally forwards. I have been in this escape pod for thirty inches. I now measure time...

Re: Strange Graffiti
It was really nice to see a second draft which managed to take on advice so well. There is a huge improvement, and the second version was a pleasure to read.
Ignominy
When we eloped, I explained that I had needs I had to fulfill. You said this wouldn’t stop you loving me. I had to run when I did, because too many of my patients had died for it to be excused by disease and bad luck. And you said you wouldn’t stop loving me. When I told you that the itch was return...

Re: As Fast As I Can!
A nice concept, another dark-and-twisted-oh-my-god-what-have-you-done-to-my-childhood interpretation of a traditional fairy story, a genre we both clearly enjoy. The line "I know they will catch me, so when they do my life will end, so shall theirs" does trip my brain up a little. I'd suggest someth...

Re: But Now We Dine in Hell
I liked this a lot. It made me think of In Camera, by Jean-Paul Sartre.
Certainly a new take on hell being other people.

Pining For The Ponds
I know I shouldn’t complain, oh magic mirror. After all, I’m married to a beautiful princess. Thanks to my diplomatic skill, my nation is feared and respected in all the known lands, and my grand reforms have made all my people love me. It was just that, I miss the water; I miss the taste of flies, ...

I'm glad you liked my interpretation, Thomas Daulton. I really like the whole reinterpreted fairy tale concept, and think a collaboration would be great. I'm off to the ideas factory!

Re: twas wolf he cried
Which message? I always thought the moral was, "Never tell the same lie twice"... . . (Yes, yes, I stole that joke from ST:DS9) Ha! I hadn't heard that one before, though I'm sure I'll use it myself at some point in the future. My problem is the father, suspecting there are wolves about, sends an u...

Liked this a lot, I've always had my problems with the message in The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
Re: Nightmare
I really liked this, particularly the 'happy ending'.
