Re: Post your Twitfic Twabbles Here! (General Content)

Sir George reached for his sword but found, instead, a banana in his scabbard. How curious, he thought as his foe struck.

Re: One More Makes Nine

Yup. Black cats, whippoorwills... and llamas. They're all in it together.

Llamas suck out souls using vacant stares. Then they spit 'em out. You watch yourself around llamas.

One More Makes Nine

Monday morning a black cat appeared at Ian's bus stop. He shooed it but it only cocked its head. At work Ian saw it outside his window staring at him, ignoring passersby even when they offered food. At lunchtime the cat appeared at Ian's heels. "Go away!" he shouted. It only stared. Then its eyes wi...

The Trouble with Idioms

"You look surprised," said the sweaty gnome, arms falling to his sides with disappointment and embarrassment. "You told me to 'come out of my shell...' so I thought you knew.... No?" Mary stared at him, horror-stricken. "Ok... this is a big mistake. I did not want you to find out like this. I’ll jus...

Re: Gloria, Too

Ooo. That woulda' been a good one. I was going for a pun on "Too" where it could be "Gloria, Also" or "Gloria 2." But yours is much classier.

I'm delighted that I now know what "Excelsior" means... it makes my Star Trek viewings that much better.

Gloria, Too

The flight attendant authorized use of electronics so Elizabeth logged into her email account. There was a message from Rick, that bastard. She’d endured four months of his twisted, psychological machinations intended to mold her, as it turned out, to be as much like his dead ex-fiancée Gloria as po...

Re: Going up, sir?

You painted the image and the allegory is clear. Church and elevators—nice connection! I'm not going to correct your English (which is very good!) but my one suggestion would be that you should've waited until the end to reveal that it was an elevator. Make us think it's church, then hit us with the...

Ha! Bit of a prick. I get it! Hey guys, it's ok, you can come out—it's a penis joke!

You know, it's times like these I'm glad I have a masters' degree in Slavic folklore from Harvard University!*

Re: Blood Money

Yes, checks go through a complex process of being sorted, scanned into digital archives, and then given the correct type of candy. If your check bounces you get stale candy corn. If it's cleared you get a Twix bar. If the check has a cool background picture you get both Twix bars. I like Twix bars.

Blood Money

What happens to checks after they’re cashed? I wasn’t always a hitman. One morning a sinister-looking pen appeared on my cubicle desk. Somebody called for my boss; I wrote down their name; the line went dead. Turns out they disappeared. Turns out anybody’d disappear after I wrote their name with tha...

Re: Crimes of Passion

You just can't get away from the fact that the best drabbles are ones that lead you in one direction and then, at the very last moment, reveal the great irony or twist the author knew about all along. The best part is, you can go back and read such a drabble and laugh at yourself for all the assumpt...

Btw, in case this seems random, it was inspired by the Egyptian cobra that escaped its containment at the Bronx Zoo Reptile House recently.

Dressed to Kill (RE: Escaped Cobra)

Pete shone his flashlight into the iguana tank. Just iguanas. No deadly snakes. "Why the flashlight?" Alan asked. "The lights are on. You’re being overcautious." "For Pete’s sake," replied Pete. "Man, that stopped being funny last year." "I remember," said Pete, poking a tortoise with a stick. "Sept...

I had to look up dead pool list also. Apparently it's a list of people you think will die next. Popular game to play with celebrities. Well. Not WITH them, really.

Sam's dream to sail around the world on a block of cheese led to the tragic and undocumented discovery of the mouse ...

Hello, Good-Lookin'

Carl vainly admired his grinning reflection in the window until with sudden horror he realized the panes were missing.
