Twenty Miles Outside of Town
I could tell something was wrong as soon as I got up, so I got my revolver out of the safe before going around to check all the windows and doors. From the kitchen window I saw the hunched monstrosity, perched on a tree stump. It's gnarled, caricatures of hands danced over the keys of a gore splatte...

Too Curious
He found the bones while hunting madly for escape. A lot of bones.
There had been other Georges before him. Many Georges.

Re: Drabblecast 181- Funeral Song for a Ventriloquist
Hey, did anyone else pick up on a Nyarlethotep vibe? Maybe I'm stating the obvious here but the whole story addressing the big black nothingness seemed like a nod to the opening line of "Nyarlethotep" by HPL where the narrator addresses the "...audient void...". Nothing to listen but listen it does....

Not Here To Make Familiars (better title anyone?)
You know what it’s like, quivering at the edge of The Pit. Yawning out in front of you, filling the horizon, starring up at you with all it’s unknowable, annihilating depth. Homunculi beside you, gripping your arms. “Gorkus, you forgot to add eye of newt to your potion,” said one of the judges, but ...

Swamps make for such a vibrant, mysterious setting. I think it goes back to Dagoba.

Good one! I have been trying to come up with a joke involving the Golgi Apparatus, but they all end up sounding too dirty.metabutch wrote:Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get out of this damn cell. Sometimes, late at night, I wonder if I really am just a nucleus.

"Inorganic Foods"
"Dolphin Danger"
"Now with extra cruelty!"
No doubt about it. I had crossed over at the super market.
P.S. Hmmm, needs something.

Free Puppies!
"Hey, want a puppy?"
"Sorry, I'm a cat person."
"You sure?"
"Yeah."
My claws retracted when the kid put it back in the box.

I worked at the Olive Garden near SFSU for four years and it was exactly like this, watching the little ma and pop italian restaurants in west ...

Re: Frozen Time
A friend of mine came back from vacation without his beard, and I had grown one while he was gone. When we first laid eyes on each other it was an eerie moment.
Men come and go but the beard abides.
Great story btw. I also think it stands well on it's own.
