Yeah, this was pretty scary. I felt like it rushed through the bits where they were out in the rest of the world though. You had me for a second there. I was picturing some jackass standing in front of the fridge, knees slightly bent, watching a movie on a little 3 inch screen.

Vines

Alberto awoke covered in vines.   Green tendrils were working their way onto his skin, microscopic rhizoids slipping inside his greasy pores, hairy stalks encasing him like swaddling.    Al struggled for a moment but stopped abruptly when the plants wound tighter.  He lay still, breathing deep fearf...

The other day I heard of a company that will clone your pet for $100,000. They are called Savings and Clone. Seriously.

Nice story

He'd prefer fish sushi but the fish were all extinct. He didn't mind though - his neighbors were all fatty and delicious.

Billy's Dreams part 2

The people had kept coming to their door after Billy found Daddy dead. They said they were there to help him, but he knew they wanted to take him away. But by then weeks had passed and Billy had learned to control his terrible dreams. He wasn’t going to allow anything to keep their family apart. The...

Re: Billy's Dreams part 1

To be honest it came from trying to fit another idea into 100 words. To make a long, rambling, and not very interesting story short, it just came to me as I was writing. I started writing about a guy who looked into the woods where he had some bad memory as a kid, and it eventually morphed into this...

Re: Drabblecast 190 - The Wheel

I haven't gotten to read through the other comments here, but I think I share the sentiment of many folks here when I say I absolutely loved it. I don't usually listen to stories twice, but I did for this one. "No discovery is good or evil until men make it so" -  this is an idea in so much of scien...
