I love how the title fits in with the ending. Brilliant!

I loved the twist there. The description of humans is a bit strange, even after knowing the twist, but I suppose the reader doesn't know what kind of aliens we've come into contact with. They probably have completely different ideas of what a being should look like, so the description actually does ...

Great story, I loved the ending. It surprised me because it was so predictable, I didn't think the author actually do it. How's that for irony?

Love the premise. If anyone else watches Doctor Who, this sounds like something Jack Harkness would do.

This is why I love drabbles - we don't need any other explanation about time travel, the time agency, or the main character. We've just got this one moment, and that's all we need.

Decay

Alone in a frigid room, a coroner sews up the day’s last corpse. Cause of death: suffocation. He rolls the corpse back into the drawer and finally leaves the dreadful room. “Honey, what’s for dinner?” he shouts upon getting home. His wife runs into the living room to greet him, and her resulting scr...

Clarification

Thanks for the positive feedback. These are just first drafts, and I'm looking forward to revising them :). I used "red herring" as just another idiom, as though the whole farm is just full of idioms. I haven't thought of any other good plant/animal idioms for the last line, so I'm stuck with that f...

Bee: Because it probably has Tehtix. And if not, I'm picturing a swarm of bees with lasers for stingers. Orca: Speed, ferocity and lots of blubber. What's not to like? Puma: Vicious claws and a bite attack? Add in some steel plating and a photonic cannon and we've got one AWESOME megabeast... Shark:...

Actually, I quite liked Morton, 'cause the ending was awesome.

I actually torture the characters in my stories quite a bit as well, but not quite in the "the government is taking my house and my insurance company sucks." That's the kind of situation that I see enough of in real life.

Some Random Drabble...

I've been writing drabble a lot lately, so I figured I'd post them here. Hunted I hit the ground running, cliché as that may sound. But when you’ve got… him chasing after you, clichés suddenly don’t matter anymore. I weaved in and out of innocent civilians. They weren’t a part of this. He wouldn’t g...

Awesome song, but...

This is going right up there with "White and Nerdy" and "The Elements". Absolutely brilliant. I kept waiting for a Douglas Adams reference but then I got a Doctor Who reference instead. AWESOME. My only (incredibly minor) critique is that I still think it needs a Hitchhiker's reference. Even...

Reality Bites Response

The story was certainly based on an interesting premise, but the twist ruined the story for me. Absolutely nothing goes right for the main character. He's trapped in a bureaucratic nightmare, and then he gets beaten up by a 300 year old vampire. I've had days like that, and I don't need to hear abou...
