Norm, you really outdid yourself on the voices this week. Awesome job.

This story is what drabblecast is all about. Weird, and unpredictable simply because, who else would have ever thought of this?

I'd suggest a caption contest for that first picture if we could keep it baby-friendly...because I'd love to imagine captions for that photo.

The story wasn't doing much for me, until the payoff. I thought the twist worked really well, and I thought the clues (the comic book, the comment about "even if you're from another planet") were just subtle enough not give anything away until it all started to come together. The earlier parts of th...

If I ever write a memoir, I think I'll have to call it "Memorable Cyst Experiences." As for the story, I enjoyed it (I tend to enjoy gross fiction), though unlike Norm I was actually a little bit thrown, not by the pimple's sudden anthropomorphism, but by the protagonist's first reaction to this dev...

I just remembered last night that "The One that Got Away" was the first story I ever listened to on Drabblecast, and it hooked me. So well done there. =)

Dustin: coincidence. Mr Tweedy: Don't feel bad, I'm not taking offense. And I am taking your comments into consideration. I will say, however, that autism isn't the only possible explanation for a lack of awareness of others. The American Psychiatrist's Association defines Antisocial Personality Dis...

Thanks for listening, everyone, and for all your comments! Kevin, you'd better watch out...it sounds like Philippa is thinking of starting her own collection. Re: the porch, it's a porch at a new house, as in, Alice's family has moved again (guess why). The story starts out with Alice at a new house...

Dustin, when I was writing it my cat was sitting next to me, and I felt like an awful person. So I appreciate the sentiment.

It's also nice to know WHY the stories were rejected. Personally, I think that audio format is perfect for something that is all dialog like "The One that Got Away."

I realized last night exactly what the title refers to (I'd just forgotten while listening to the story), and it's awesome. People have complained about titles giving away the punchline--"The Suit," for instance--but "Beekeepers" didn't seem to tip anybody off on this one. Perhaps the metaphor was j...

I agree with Philippa that the pacing was excellent. I also think it worked really well as an audio story; for most of the story it could very well have been just a third-person narrative, a non-character description of events, but that didn't make it any less interesting to listen to. The one thing...

It seems I am the first to put "Wiggins" last in my ranking...I liked the idea, but like Mr. Tweedy I felt like there wasn't enough time spent on it. "Witness" was my favorite, followed by "Pork and Steak-Eye meet Phelan Sheppard." I loved the limited perspective in the first story and the chills--a...

I enjoyed this story. While I certainly do love creepy twists, I liked the straightforwardness of this narrative, and that it turned out the way you want it to for each character. I wouldn't call it a happy story, but it was satisfying.

I posted a link to this in the Facebook forum, too... The phrase "parasitic twin" really gets me. Perhaps especially because I have a twin? Hardly parasitic as he and I seldom communicate much less live in anything close to symbiosis, but apparently I was trying to strangle him in utero with my umbi...

I also really liked this drabble. I love zombies, and I'm always interested to see different approaches to the zombie-story narrative.

I enjoyed the production of the main story; the music really enhanced the drama (I'd be curious to listen to the story without it).

Punchline?

Hah, I can picture that scene in a Wes Anderson film. I was disappointed at the end of this story; I felt like I got a lot of explanation/build up and then...left hanging, but not in a way that let my mind follow up. Instead, I really just wanted to know: did Brian get a deal? I wanted the answer to...
