This one falls before ep 147 as seen in the first post. May I suggest that you meant #148?
Erm, yeah. Not sure what happened there. Fixed

Haha. Plantporn. :P Awesome and disgusting at the same time.

And the Drabble made me laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. (I hadn't seen the title of it, so the punchline, which should have been obvious to me but somehow wasn't, came as a surprise).

Re: Drabblecast 139- Let Us Now Praise Awesome Dinosaurs

I'm with Mr. Tweedy on this one, it just didn't do much for me. More than the story, I dislike the title. Rather than making sense in the context of the story, it just says "The story's got dinosaurs and therefore is awesome". Which to me was just reinforced the checklist idea. Gotta completely dis...

Excellent episode! I was cracking up over Norm's presentation of Frank's reading. Wow! The main stories were both excellent, in very different ways. Norm, the MP3 came through as a .mov. For those in a hurry, I made a MP3 version over at the archive. http://gardenstreet.org/drabblecastarchive/archi...

Re: Drabblecast 183- Angel of the Ordinary by Tim Pratt

Finally had a chance to listen. Loved the main story! The guy's nuttiness was endearing (sweet tart and bacon popcorn? BLEH!). Sweet and charming tale. Though his girlfriend is clearly not trustworthy, and I worry about his future with this manipulative woman. Excellent narration, I agree. The outro...

Hmm, ITunes seemingly decided not to download this episode. How dare it deny me my Drabblecast, particularly a T. Pratt story?

Re: Drabblecast 182- Trifecta XIV

I enjoyed all three stories. As for a favorite, its a close call between Toaster and Character Flu. They are both wonderful for radically different reasons. I dig the whimsical sillyness of the Toaster story (and great reading by Big & Rish), but I liked the rather sinister note to 'Flu.' Plus the "...

Re: Podcasts I like or don't like

Regardless of whether you normally care for SSS, everyone really should take a listen at this week's episode. It starts off with a phone interview with sci fi legends Frederick Pohl and Jack Vance, both at once. Now, Pohl is 91 and Vance is 94, but they're both still sharp as tacks (though Vance ram...

Re: Drabblecast 179- The Red Bride by Samantha Henderson

Oh man, 'Red Bride' was absolutely fantastic. Creepy! Though I found myself wondering about the history between the humans and the Var. I think at the end she says something like "we are the seeded races, beneath the skin we are all the same." I want to know more about about where the Var came from....

Re: Drabblecast 180- Something Borrowed, Something Doomed

I mostly loved the story, but the ending didn't have any particular emotional payoff for me. Swimming around in the dark being able to poof things into existence sounds pretty spiffy, though. I think what it is is that.. the fact that its herself she's seeing isn't clearly enough of a twist. As I read it, it was someone being maudlin at the changes addiction has wrought. Thing is I'm not sure what you're going for here. If what you want is shock when the base premise is revealed to come ...

Oh man that cover art has got me shying away from the screen. Nicely done! :p Story was deliciously creepy. I enjoyed the (what I felt to be) vindictive snarkyness of the floaters just before he destroyed them (or their vessel anyway). I think the concept of having things living inside oneself (asid...

I love that the article contains the phrase 'Squid surveillance.' It's like 'octopus ogling,' but pointier.
