Re: Drabblecast 068 - The Wiggly People

So touchy. I've put very positive comments on many of these ie most recently reality bites. But i'm sure you don't want a forum where ONLY positive opinions may be expressed? I obviously love the DC a lot or I wouldn't be listening to so many and quite frankly, I've been pleasantly and frequently su...

Re: Drabblecast 071 - Perfect Down Further

Story felt a bit amateur... but I suppose it met the weird criterion.

Re: Drabblecast 068 - The Wiggly People

I felt like this story had potential but didn't quite live up to it - I guess in a short short stories it might be harder to give the reader that feeling of a satisfying ending - interesting gesticulating at something that might be cool or interesting but not much payout?

Re: Drabblecast 067 - Malish

I'm usually a huge Mike Resnick fan, so I was disappointed that I couldn't get into this one... Maybe it needed a slower pace? But hey, even Mike Resnick can't write a "Bride-sicle" level story every time, I guess.

Re: Drabblecast 066 - Creatures in Disguise

I both hated and loved this. I don't believe the story has any lasting, redeeming value but it was a helluva lotta fun, particularly with Norm's oh so dramatic readings.

I echo the previous "meh's" - since I've resolved to listen to and comment on all stories, had to say something..... but now it's on to the next.

I absolutely loved this - light and fun twist on vampires forced to deal with the bureaucrasy (omg i have no idea how to spell that) of the modern day - cool stuff!

Creation (Wayfarer Themed : Journey/Quest)

I hated every sculpture I made. None came close to my masterpiece – that unfinished statue that I’d worked on every chance I could for so many years. It showed an old God as it lay dying deep under the Earth, capturing the light of endless destruction in his eyes like nothing else I had ever created...

Re: Drabblecast 064 - Thus Spake Bleerbo

Great drabble - but aliens coming to look at the Earth and judge all our foibles is pretty overdone............. Surely we're not the only intelligent species that doesn't treat each other well. Few animals live in ever-loving hippie communes.

Re: Drabblecast 063 - Time Shift

Great idea, though maybe not a lot of depth.

It is funny how AI is always depicted as having human emotions/desires etc - somehow I suspect they won't be human shaped at all.

Re: Drabblecast 278 – The End of the World as We Know It

What I liked : the play by play discoveries of the end of the world - something you don't often see emphasized in apocalyptic stories is the fact that each survivor recently lived the godawful experience of discovering their loved ones dead. What I didn't like : 1) the prosaic Christianity, 2) the w...

Re: Drabblecast 053 - Sing

Didn't miss it - that's why I put that it wasn't clear to me "why playing back the recorded music would kill these aliens," - The metaphor you're assigning is interesting, but intelligent creatures often gain self-awareness without it killing them. Still think the metaphysics is a bit vague. They se...

Even when I"m home on my fios wi fi, I keep getting 503 denial of service things from the page when I try to stream through my phone... I've switched over to using gardenstreet, which still has the archived stories up, and haven't had any problems so far. No clue why I'm having so many problems from...

Loved the song, enjoyed teh story, despite the lack of plot/characters. Sometimes you just can't get a whole novel in in under 2000 words.

Re: Drabblecast 053 - Sing

This was a great story - makes me feel bad actually about the fact that I refused to finish another story by (I THINK) the same author recently that was about purity/virginity tests.... /groan. Not sure what the story meant in the end. It's still not entirely clear to me why playing back the recorde...

Re: Drabblecast 054 - Unholy Fruit

/facepalm

I actually liked the story for the most part, until the last line... ANd then I felt like the whole thing was a setup to a bad pun. So I guess I"m disagreeing with the crowd on this one.
