Re: At the Border

I like the fact that the line is Ouroboros, the snake that consumes itself. It is a hardcore reference. Someone has been doing their homework. It reads as purgatory as opposed to hell. Though technically I think the concept predates christainity so it probably neither.

Re: South of Heaven

Perhaps true, it might be better to go at life without the compass (Bible, Koran, etc...) but most don't.

I do not know what our narrator is complaining about. I always find it is easiest to approach life's problems after a good crap. :D

South of Heaven

Through the rain of blood, I journey up the mountain of bone. My muscles burn and fail as I climb its insurmountable slopes. I check my compass. Below, in the haze, ghostly apparitions of those I have wronged cry out in agony. My heart sinks and my conviction falters. I check my compass. Above, in t...

Re: the last line - I was just thinking how if it's your job to fight bad things, part of you may wish that the bad things weren't an enemy to begin with, or that the day will come when fighting them will be unnecessary. Sort of like how a doctor might do her job well, but look forward to a time wh...

Re: My Robots (Somebody's Got to Do it Themed)

Ah robots and mad scientists, always a funny combination. It actually has an almost lovecraftian vibe as in the curious nature of humans will ultimately lead to their demise. You don't want to know what is inside. In the pursuit of knowledge you unleash your own doom.

Re: Mindco

Good drabble. I would love to do this. I wouldn't mind someone coming for the ride either. Hopefully it would make us both appreciate what we had a hell of a lot more. It would cause us all to dispel the illusion that the grass is greener on the other side. Also I wonder what would happen if you wen...

Re: Drabblecast 298 – Flying On My Hatred of My Neighbor’s D

I agree with Varda. I was actually laughing all the way to work listening to this. The concept is just so screwed up I am surprised I had not heard a story like this before. Moral is great too. Hate breeds hate. Great story. It does conjure up Punk Rock Voyage. Nathan's narration was a good fit for ...

Re: The Clockwork Heist (Drabble Version)

I also like steampunk. However, I'm having a tough time figuring out how the Winder comes up with a cover story. Wouldn't he realize that he is going to take the fall? Yeah I thought that too, but I wanted a clear and abrupt ending. I also wanted to make sure it not too dark. I thought about him ab...

Re: The Clockwork Heist (Drabble Version)

Thanks Varda. It was decent. We went out to one of the nicest French restaurants in Albuquerque. Good luck on getting in Penumbra. I have sent Rhyme out to StoneTelling. It is a poetry zine. I also have a couple other children's rhymes under consideration elsewhere including one for Cricket's Ladybu...

The Clockwork Heist (Drabble Version)

In the moonlight, I could clearly make out the clockwork sentinel in front of Reynold's Trust and Savings. With that thing on duty, the bank was impenetrable. The right arm was a .45 caliber Gatling, the left arm ended in a large claw, and the whole thing was encased in an industrial steel exoskelet...

Re: To My Beloved

it is hard to write drabble poetry. I think the ending is fine. The imagery is good too. I was bugged by the middle. It seemed like there was a theme with the first two and last stanza. Seen/unseen, feast/famine, heard/unheard. You kind of get away from that in the middle. However, I will also agree...

Strange. I am ususally not a big dialogue only fan, but in this case, I would work with it to get rid of Luna lowering eyes in shame and make it dialogue only.

is it sad that I have only heard of Schodringers cat because of the big bang theory.

In any event, this is an excellent drabble. I could see this one going on the show. The delivery and pacing is spot on.
