If you read the article - they require that the user wear a condom, and state that collecting the ... Product is less reliable than more traditional methods. I don't see this taking off.

This definitely treaded heavily into gender roles. The half-transformed lady was extremely weak, and had no character of her own. The grandmother was powerful, but old and mean. So while the author left out the role of the powerful, likable woman, she also left out the role of powerful, likable men...

I think the idea is that somehow the alien biology is reversed, so that the young do the heavy lifting, while the adults party. I found out infuriating, but not unbelievable, that the fiancee wanted him to transition. Also, she was concerned for his health.

The Participated and Timeline sections work great. Unread is always empty, so something is borked with that.

I actually keep misremembering it as "tapattack." I'm sure that says something about me.

I read this in F&SF last year; as I listened, I remembered the general thrust of the story, and it was great to experience it again knowing the "secret."
