Re: Drabblecast 410 – Go Between
This one really felt like classic, old school Drabblecast to me. China is weird to the core. Interesting tidbit of DC inside baseball: Bo uses himself as a starting point for a lot of the faces he uses when doing DC art. Go back and look, you can often see the hilarious similarities... even when you...

I agree! Keep the encouragement coming on this one if you enjoyed it folks, Fred has potential ideas for expanding this with future pieces in a series.

Re: Drabblecast 413 – The Rats in the Walls
Lotta work went into this one. If you read the original and compare it to our adaptation you'll see some distinct differences. Wanted to play the idea of race in a very different way that Lovecraft original intended. Patrick did an awesome job-- this shit's hard to read! Magna Mater folks! Magna Mat...

Re: Drabblecst 402- The Moving Stars
I wanted to thank the Drabblecast team for this one, as it's the one that made me discover the site! I was waiting hopelessly in an airport, coming back home after doing a pre-insurance check-up on some property for sale in Paphos , and I ran into it by complete accident while looking for short sto...

Re: Drabblecast 400 & 401- We Who Stole the Dream
Thanks everyone! It was a lot of work but a lot of fun to acquire and put together. This story winds up being pretty tragic in the end but believe it or not, this one is ctually one of the lighter stories Tiptree wrote, IMO. She'd have wound up creating Black Mirror long before Charlie Brooker if yo...

Re: Drabbleclassics 29- Primary Pollinator (191)
This one's an all-time favorite of mine. But the new analysis that follows really articulates what is so awesome about it--that maybe in the end it isn't necessarily sheer might and aggression that ensure natural selection and survival of a species, but rather decency, integrity, and compassion. Wo...

Re: Drabblecst 402- The Moving Stars
Haha. Yah, man I couldn't tell how much I wanted it to swerve into the creepy "she really is a child abductor" route or not! Thought the author did a good job of playing with that ambiguity and made the right call in the end. We never really knew if we were dealing with an unreliable narrator or not...

Re: Drabblecast 405 – Wet Fur
I loved this week's winning Twabble, where time order changes. Super clever and smart. The main story this week was good (to me) but not great. I love my pets but it took long to figure out who the narrator was and then it wasn't really clear who we were hearing from. If it was a swarm of sentient ...

Re: Drabblecast 398- The Day After the Day the Martiians Came
Totally taking this suggestion to heart Kev. I love it too. Sometimes authors can be a little shy or want the story to totally stand on it's own but personally I've always loved hearing a little background, as long as it's presented AFTER the story.

Drabblecast Director's Cut: Sing
“A Musical on a Submarine” Norm and author Kristine Kathryn Rusch discuss her story from way back in 2008 for Drabblecast #53. This is the “Director’s Cut – Sing.” We also dive into a discussion about unsung women in Science Fiction, like Leigh Bracket and James Tipree Jr. Why use a pen name after a...
