Re: Drabblecast 254/255 – The Wreck of the Charles Dexter Wa

Also, the Twabble and Drabble cracked me up for the record, especially the Drabble. To each his own I guess. I would happily listen to Beethoven's 9th as armpit squelches, ... although the more I think about it I'd prefer to hear the 5th in that particular medium. Oh, and artwork? Holy Dodgeson-budd...

Re: Drabblecast 253 - Maybe the Stars

This one PULLED ME IN. Wow! Awesome production. I'm starting to think, after listening to her Podcastle stories, that Samantha Henderson has a knack for sea-faring yarns? But I did go back to listen to Starry Night like Norm recommended and I have to say, I may have been wrong in my baseless assumpt...

Re: Drabblecast 252 – The Elder Thing and the Puddle People

Not terribly memorable, but surely had its moments. I'm glad I listened, although for something so light it's wedged between some particularly heavy and awesome stories in the feed. I don't care so much about the end coming back to the little girl, although I think that could have been possibly funn...

Re: Drabblecast 254/255 – The Wreck of the Charles Dexter Wa

So I barely had ever heard of HP Lovecraft and since 2010 HP Lovecraft month has now become the month I look forward to the most on the podcast (possibly also because August is insanely miserably hot where I live and listening means I'll be indoors at least!) I loved David D Levine's story 'Floaters...

More hilarity from Connor Choadsworth's twitter:

Great Trifecta! The readings were all particularly well matched and well done in this one I thought. Selfless was my favorite of the lot.

Re: MBDM 2012 R4 Necromander vs Barracade vs Mr. D'ed

I really like Necromander. I think his powers are pretty cool and I dig his groovy runes. However, I can't discount the old adage embodied by Mr. D'Ed: Q: "How many Ewoks does it take to defeat Superman?" A: "One, at sufficient velocity." That joke fits this round PERFECT! Though, I'm also with tho...

Re: Drabblecast 246 – The Kidney

I really enjoyed this one! It harkens back to the classically strange Drabblecast days of yester-yore. I think the kidney being tacked-on is the entire joke, so can see how someone wouldn't really be into it if they didn't get the joke. It's just such ridiculous imagery, and the dialogue really supp...

Re: Bsides 17 - Exploring

I'm just glad I'm not the only one who writes Dora stories . :) That was great! Very different take on the "Dora Universe"... with a hint of Stephen King? In fact, not to derail this thread from Bryce's hilarious story, but a full on Dora/Dark Tower mash-up would be pretty interesting I think!

Re: Bsides 17 - Exploring

Run bitch, run!!! That was a lot of fun. Great story and great live readings! I love the moment after "the little brown-haired girl blinked for the third time that day" line when everyone just laughs. Not counting Choadsworth adventures, this is my favorite Bsides episode since The Elves Hate ...

Re: Mega-Beast Trading Cards!

Ordered Norm's first CD and it came with a Venus Die Trap card! Had to buy the set after that. :)
They came the other day! My favorite is Crablooey, it remind me of the early days of Drabblecast. I love that the guys are still stirring up mass community arguments about this stuff every year.

Re: Drabblecast 238 - From The Lost Diary Of TreeFrog7

I had a hard time staying with this one. Not sure why, the reading was really great and the cpu plant and other alien critters described were really cool. Maybe because it was longer than usual and I was already a little distracted or something. I didn't get the impression this was Earth at all, or ...

Re: Drabblecast 237 - Test Drive

Short and cute. Kind of neat to have alien shapeshifters trying to impersonate teenage girls specifically, as teenagers are in a sense, shapeshifters trying to figure out who they are to some extent already.
As usual, love me some Norm intro and outros.

Re: BSides 16 - Winning Streak

That was a great story! B Sides episodes are always such a pleasant surprise and the stories are just as good as anything produced on Drabblecast. I thought the reveal was well timed at the end also, didn't see it coming. The story was a neat little window into a space opera universe that seems real...

Mixed Martial Hearts- - Was sweet and also crazy weird, a very hard balancing act. My Hot Side- - Clever and funny. Perfect for the 100 word medium. Their Stock Was Down .... Re: Nominations - Best Story

I nominate... #1 Bears Discover Fire: I loved the atmosphere this one created before the weirdness even began to occur. I'm not surprised this story has won so many awards, I haven't come across "Americana" in spec fic done this well before. It's alternate history with a ludicrous evolutionary devel...
