Re: Drabblecast 216 - The Book of Eternity

I've got to agree with Djinndustries and strawman on this one. The narration was great and I loved the devil's voice, but the story itself was a big letdown.

Re: Drabblecast 208 - Hokkaido Green

I'm glad other people really liked this episode, but I didn't really dig it. Stories where magic play such a central role don't usually do it for me. In this case, was the bear supposed to be a god who controlled all cameras in the world? I'm not sure I can explain why it didn't bother me that the b...

Re: Drabblecast 206 - Creature

Very good story, great atmosphere, and I have to agree with Norm's statement about the contrasting emotions making for a nice shade of brown. It is fun to love a monster who struggles with his inner demons while helping a lost little girl, even if some jerks need to get squished up real good along t...

Another winner. Great all around, including the production values and narration, which knocked my socks off.

So much more to explore in this universe... Elizabeth and Sarah please keep going!

Re: Drabblecast 198 - Love in the Pneumatic Tube Era

I loved this story in part because I was surprised by it; in part because the urgency of love came through so strongly even when the barriers were so different from what we think of as contemporary barriers; and in part because it was just a great story. Another win for the Drabblecast.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it and will check out the Dribblecast that I've heard about a few times recently but have yet to check out.

My First Drabble

Hi all. After hearing so many great Drabbles on the podcast I finally tried writing one myself. I posted it but it didn't get a single comment -- not even a "terrible first effort!" So, I figured I'd repost and fish for feedback. Below the Drabble, the story behind it... ----------------------------...

Peaceful Moment

After the initial violence (and muffled sonic boom) generated by the launch of the world’s first engineless orbital glider, flung at barely imaginable speeds from the mag-lev rail gun launch facility in the New Mexico desert, the sleek vehicle whisked its 15 wealthy clients silently into orbit. Even...

Re: Drabblecast 177- Floaters by David D. Levine

I listened to this story poolside under a clear blue sky. As story unfolded and I watched my floaters I gripped the chair tightly, being glad that the story was being delivered aurally and not in writing. Can you imagine if they misinterpreted it as a threat, and preemptively attacked my brain to ca...

Re: Drabblecast 173- Go Beep by Aliya Whiteley

I always love episodes with Norm's music but this story fell flat for me for some reason. Likely to do with lack of explanations for big jumps in the plot. I can believe that someone will someday write a song that is insanely catchy but there's no explanation at all for how it suddenly got onto ever...

The Drabblecast is what you get when a great book has sex with a masterfully produced movie.

Booyah to all y'all who make it happen!

Did anyone else think of the Drabblecast logo tentacle when the narrator described finding the suction-cup marks on the truck in the morning?

My thoughts on the sock puppet story:

High quality
Thought provoking
Mind poking
Twisted
Clever
Awesomeness
Lovingly Hand-Stitched
By an author I assume has crazy hair

Re: Drabblecast 163- Once a Month on a Sunday by Ian McHugh

This was a frustrating story to listen to because I couldn't understand the narration and the dialect. Perhaps if I'd been near a computer and following along with a written version I could have enjoyed the accent but I listened to this story in the car on a long drive and was disappointed to not be...

[Still Clapping]

A wonderful story and a fascinatingly clever cautionary tale. Going back and doing it once or twice may be understandable but it soon became a crippling addiction that ruined his real life.

Re: Drabblecast 149- So You're Going to Die by Robert Reed

Fantastic story -- easily one of my favorite ever -- and the one that is during me from a new listener into a donor today. I loved how the story kept going in a new direction each time I thought it was about to end, and how the science fiction built to a more and more technical perspective. I would...
