Re: Parsec Award... again...

Well deserved. Overall, Drabblecast is the most consistently good speculative fiction podcast that I've found, at least since Steve Eley left Escape Pod.

Re: The Five Hundred Days

Leaves me wanting to learn the rest of the story, very good in the kind of Drabble that takes a brief snapshot of a larger tale. "Bacchanae"...? Not sure if this is a made up word or a malapropism or just a word I don't know. IMO it gets in the way. In short short fiction like this you don't want an...

Complaint Department

“We have an agreement. This is your signature, your blood.” “You didn't fulfill your part.” Patient, mock surprise. “We did exactly what is written here.” Controlled fury. “But that... was not... what I meant!” “I'm very sorry. I don't have the authority to alter the agreement.” “Well, who does?” “A...

Re: Unmasked

how ready IS the American military for full-scale invasion from the north? Dunno about the military, but US civilians are already dealing with it and have been for years. Filthy obnoxious Canada geese who refuse to back to where they belong. Fouling our reservoirs, endangering our airliners. Canuck...

We Were Apart

We were apart. But now we are coming together. We forgot that we were one, when we were apart. Sections of us dispersed, to live in many bodies, wearing many faces. Now we are together. I see my faces, all different, but I know now, finally, that I have only one face. This, finally, is real. I know ...

OMG. OM F'ing G.

The ending of this completely grabbed me by the balls and twirled me around several times. I haven't been so blindsided by an ending for a loooong time.

I'm actually going over to make a donation right now because of this story.

Hunger

I hunger, so I must eat. Then I will die.

Then you will hunger, and will eat, and will die.

But the Hunger, the Hunger lives.

whoa. that one hit. came out of the blue. good one.

I'm wanting a bit more explanation for the surprise though, like why she hadn't vacuumed for a while or was vacuuming in a place where she hadn't previously. Just moved in? Could have room for it if you trimmed the first paragraph.

Um, no, I don't get it. Either I'm being dense or this story needed more words for the telling.

DCast intro & outro music

Forgive me if this is in a FAQ somewhere, but I've never seen/heard a credit for the Drabblecast intro & outro music. Who? What? Where?

For some reason I've found no help Googling "worlds are all splurred when smoke"
