Re: Drabblecast 344 - Doubleheader XV

I'm floored by his writing. Anyone have a clue what person is singing hey ya at the end of sing pilgrim? It's excellent world building and I love the peek we got inside that world.

Re: blades of grass

Why thank you. I thought of a shared secret in this community where this grass is a killer. People know it and do nothing. The short grew from that but I'm just glad it was liked and thank those of you who commented.

blades of grass

Blades of Grass The sign had done little to deter the boy as his stubby legs thrust him forward in persuit of his butterfly. The monarch high above him as most royals see themselves. It's graceful movements keeping his gaze affixed to the entrancing fluttering of its orange and black wings. His firs...

Shootin the Breeze

Shootin the breeze    The creak of the chair was incomplete without the clicking of his arthritic hip and pre dusk crickets chirp completing the symphonic melody of this red neck concerto on the Leland family farm. The sounds halted abruptly as Edgar’s cataract covered eyes peer into the distance at...

It looks like somebody has a knack for hundred word stories. I'm glad to read your lines they sing in a key most pleasing.

Re: Drabble poem: The Night Sky

The awesome thing about the forums is that I just happened upon this looking for something I started reading and didn't get to finish. It's an old drabble but its new to me. I laughed from my toes. Very well done.

Neighborly

Before I make it across the frosted driveway with the bag of rock salt and antifreeze my neighbor asks the same daily asinine question. “Cold enough for ya Jack?” The smug asshole guffaws and slaps his corduroy clad thigh, leading his yapping Pomeranian back toward his house. “Ya know what,” I say, ...

Elder Fall

Elder Fall The rain smacks against the roof almost as loudly as the sound his callused hand striking my cheek an hour before. I clean blood from the chisel’s blunt end. His body lay limp and lifeless across the bed as his head rests awkwardly angled against the floorboards.” An accident.” They will ...

Majikly Delicious

Sigils, glyphs and runes all etched into the bones of fay folk. Woven around my wrist by seven silver strands of unicorn hair. I run from the hu-man’s young ones. They try to cast in silver these same symbols for fashion sake but only I can cast true magic with mine. Drawn by the power the symbols h...

Sell Yourself

(I was slightly conflicted on a title here. It was either going to be Screening Process, Sell Yourself. I decided on the latter. Let me know if you agree.) Sell Yourself The tube of lipstick had barely been capped before the smack of the envelope hit the desk behind me and echoed through the now sil...
