I like it better! Echoes died first. Nice touch.

"My Mother The Car" Remake --

My boss scoffed when I requested family leave for a car repair. So my advanced AI, Safe Brake, GPS system subpoenaed him.

It's Going Around

"E-mail's down. Must be a virus," I sigh. "Well, don't give it to ME!" my cyborg coworker covers his mouth and backs away.

Re: Failure (a Christmas Story)

Deliciously twisted!! I imagine the guy knew he had failed when lavish presents -- the stuffed animals and BB gun he had wanted since age 9 -- just magically appeared under his tree without setting off his motion detectors, while he was hunched over his radar screen.

Re: One Last 2010 Drabble

Hey there DarkMatters! I'm honored you chose my story for your first comment! I look forward to reading some Drabbles of your own! BetaDog, & 'Cat, nice one! :D This drabble was inspired when I actually did get "volunteered" to clean out the office fridge this week. So I was tempted to label it "BAS...

Never heard of the Advent Ghosts but it looks really cool! Here's the link, to save everyone two clicks: http://isawlightningfall.blogspot.com/2010/11/shared-storytelling-advent-ghosts-2010.html Obviously I'm a newbie but the 'Cat's contribution seems to hit the mark with the atmosphere... One Last 2010 Drabble

On the fourteenth floor of the ConTek building, Dave drew the short straw. It was his duty to clean the office fridge. Frank Poole snickered as he returned to his cubicle. Rubber gloves, safety goggles, spray cleanser… Dave faced the cold black plastic monolith. Frank concentrated on his TPS reports...

Re: One Hell of A Terrible Playmate

I just love the totally unexpected, out-of-the blue Classical turn the board has taken this week. Now we've got Persephone in two different threads, the Library of Alexandria in Betadog's thread, and the Aztecs in my thread.

Drabblecastees, we are like the Indiana Joneses of "weird".

Re: Pop-Up Ad

I was basing my concept on the old Aztec tradition of treating their sacrifice like a king for 1 day beforehand... Surely somebody back during the Aztec empire thought of that? Presumably if the sacrifice wished to escape the sacrifice, back in those days, the priests and handmaidens would just nod ...

I thought this was clever! Sort of scam-spam judo, use your opponent's strengths against them. The Nigerian who sent you the dating scam is probably trying to obtain the address of the extraterrestrials settling in Nigeria as we speak! So he can sign them up for his dating scam, of course.

Ahhhhhh, but you see, it was classical porno, not that cheap tawdry stuff that the Etruscans and the Minoans churn out all the time. What a loss for world literature.
