Women in science fiction

There is a great discussion here about women in science fiction regarding the new expo at the British library "out of this world" which is about science fiction past and present (all major genders are represented) The BBC radio4 show women's hour has a section on women authors in science fiction and...

Sci Fi Nursary Rhymes

Hi all,

This isnt exactly Bbardle, but seems the most appropriate place for my question.

I need some Sci Fi themed nursery rhymes to sing to my 6 month old son.

Any suggestions?

Nothing like making non state tv so dull that state run tv seems slightly more interesting - now if they put that kind of creative thinking into state run tv they wouldn't have to ban interesting ideas at all.

Re: dug up corpse and made it into curry

interesting one this, the report doesnt say whether they did it because they couldnt afford meat or because they just prefered human meats. Also, what are the health implications of eating cancerous meat? i wouldnt want a tumour beef burger so i guess even cannibals would rather not eat cancer corps...

I absolutly loved this, far future space fish eating the ships left after its loving crew have plundered the frozen heads and gilly aliens from its hull.

it just doesnt get better.

Cant wait for part two, thanks to all involved!

Re: You thought ducks were evil/no one talks about the otter

Reminds me of a passage in "animals in translation where a farmer tells the author how his prize pig will only ejaculate if it's anus is played with. (see partial quote of this passage below) Firstly- I don't want to know how he worked this out. Secondly, how would this kind of trait have any evolut...

Re: You thought ducks were evil/no one talks about the otter

Interesting ideas there. I imagine that's the difference between hard wired biology through evolution and proclivities toward emergent behaviours. I wonder if animals that have some method to mastibate have a lower instance of what would be described as deviant and sociopathic sex in humans. ( as th...

Re: Drabblecast 200 - The Last Question by Isaac Asimov

Yes yes yes! I love this story and this was one of the best productions to date. mighty Mur being the voices of the ACs made me geek out, all the art work was exceptional, the score was exquisite and the whole thing left me tingling. I always felt that Clarke's 9 billion names of god was a great com...

Worlds stranger fetish

Most Fetishes are a lot like team sports to me- they just don't have any appeal personally, but at a stretch I can kind of see what other people get out of them. Then, well, there's stuff like this that just leaves me dumb founded, bemused, disgusted and feeling like I need to have a bath- ( from a ...

Re: ....and then my neighbours started screaming.

Reminds me of last week when my inconsiderate neighbours came round, banging on my front door at 3am!! Fortunately for me I was practicing my drum solos at the time- but if that had been the night before they would have really disturbed my sleep routine. Some people have no sense of civil community!...
