The Drabble was Ace, the drabblecast was Ace, and the reading was Ace squared. Where does Norm find these characters? He'd probably do a good Sybil.

Plus as a bonus it's up a few hours early! Anyway, a great fun combination. No chance our critiques will be hurting anyone's feelings this week. Speaking of which, if you check the EP comments for Distant Replay I think you'll agree that EP is populated by gnarly litttle men compared to DC.

Wee-hah!

I actually cheered out loud when I saw the author credit, and let me just say, the episode did not disappoint. The story was just pure fun, very in the DC spirit, and the reading was out-of-the-park good. I guess I don't really have as much to say about this episode; how many ways can one say "I freaking loved this" without sounding incredibly silly?

I had my doubts about a horse-racing story, but Norm really sold this one well. Awesome Time magazine cover, too!

I really liked this story. Of course, it is Resnik, so that is no surprise. If you haven't read his Santiago book, go grab a copy. It is in my top 5 favorite SF novels.

The drabble was great!

I love a story with a unique narrative, and this was a perfect example of an experimental narrative done very well.

New Podcast!!! As a collector of vinyl I can honestly say that some of the best / experimental tunes in my collection are always found on the 12 inch or 45 singles, but not the single itself. The good stuff is always on the flip side. Rock on DC.

And why is it always a Sister-Podcast. What about a Brother-Podcast? A Bro-Cast.

Cool Drabble. Great story by Resnik (as usual). Love his stuff. The production was really good, a fun listen and good diversion from another day of working tedium.

Well, everyone else has already said what needs to be said. I'll say it again, just in case.

I think this episode proves why the Drabblecast is such a winner. We had a Mike Resnick story, but it was just one part of an all round well produced and (most of all) fun 15 minutes. Everything just worked well, and the result was far greater than the sum of it's already awesome parts.

Oh, and I was pleased to hear a brass band featured. What was that track, Norm? I'm guessing it was public domain and thus way before my time...

It's funny you mention that track (if you are in fact referring to the one at the opening), because when it came I immediately thought of another podcast that uses that music as its closing (and used to be the opening, too): sex advice columnist Dan Savage's Savage Lovecast. So, my brain was cued to expect something totally different. =p

I really liked this drabble.

You know, employees can be so inconsiderate. I tried to scrape out enough time this afternoon to enjoy the latest Drabblecast, and I had nothing but interruption after interruption. I mean, what do I pay them for??

The drabble made me laugh. I'm not sure why thermonuclear explosions are funny, but it was.

Wow, the 1.5c/word got you into Resnick territory.
Having listened to many of his works over at ResnickPod, er, I mean EscapePod, I was looking forward to it. I was not disappointed!

Man, it's amazing how much DC production sounds bring to a good story like this. I'm afraid I'm getting spoiled, and other podcasts are sounding downright bland!

Actually it's just a little jingle in the garageband data base, not sure what it is. I hear stuff on other podcasts all the time and say "oh, that guy must use garageband too!"

All around great stuff, and one of my favorite readings by Norm. (Which is saying something, because he always does killer readings). Just a great production all around.

And I'm excited about the B-sides podcast. Although I am trying to figure out how you qualify "weirder" in this podcast.
