Here is the first joke of Betty L. Duncan. Why do the three-eyed aliens bank on the moon? Because there is not enough sun to go around. Press the blue button when you have finished laughing...

Ah, I knew "Hard Choices" sounded familiar. I'd read it in Brain Harvest some time ago. Took me a bit to figure that one out.

Good choice by Norm in going through South Dakota, which is the least boring of that stack of rectangles in the middle of the country. Which is kind of like winning the award for "Funniest War Crime".

Anyway Norm, here's a little primer on what to expect out of South Dakota. *ahem*

Oh, that was nice. Good to hear another episode.
I enjoyed both stories, but "A Day Out" was excellent! Perfect drabblecast fare. Made me smile.

The episode art- I like the strawberry blond joke.

Holy Cephalopods did that episode achieve epic quantities of weird. :P Good thing too 'cause I was jonesing. :p Really enjoyed the rather unusual format of both pieces, in particular 'A Day Out' because really, who DOESN'T love 'Choose Your Own Adventures'? Someone needs to write such a series for adults :p Or, at least, for me. :P The story also serves as ample warning to the lovelorn not to be alone with the object of their affection, because its likely he or she is going to turn into a monster and eat you. This story could save lives!

I loved A Day Out. The story peels back like the layers of an onion, each one more fragrant than the last. A true onionrose. :D

Don't forget the Shapeshifter Reservation off of the I-40. Just don't go into their casino.

Seriously, you'll be eaten by shapeshifters.

Sadly, that is very true. I grew up in the eastern half of the state. My in-laws still live out by Rapid City (aka, that place near Mt. Rushmore). That area is pretty nice, but the drive across the rest of the state is brutal. And Wall Drug sucks, bigtime, nothing but a giant tourist store that sells overpriced trinkets. In college I worked for a souvenir wholesaler that sold many of their stores slightly less overpriced trinkets that could be marked up for profit. Too bad we weren't in SD when Norm came through, and I'm behind on my episodes anyway due to a vacation. I live next door over in Minnesota which at least has more lakes, and lots of pretty forests to hike through. I could've at least recommended a couple restaurants near Rapid City if I'd been closer to being caught up (namely, Golden Phoenix and Alpine Inn). Oh well!

Anyway, on to the stories. They were both very fun, clever ideas that struck me as pretty original. I always loved Choose Your Own Adventure as a kid, so that one was very fun. I also have a fondness for jokes that get a complete-nonreaction from those they are being told to. Often I find that funnier than an actual funny joke. So the apparently nonsensical alien jokes in the other were awesome too.

No complaints all around. :)
