Like Tweedy, I found this one depressing. The future of romance is a half-step away from dogs sniffing each other's butts.

It was well written, with believable characters, just the prospect of that is depressing.

I don't think I've ever heard a better drabble than the one on this episode. It brought me to tears. Combining cryosleep malfunction with a touch of time dilation... waking up and realizing a friend died years ago just feet away from you... yeeeeikes. So much there, and in so few words. I listened to this episode days ago and it's the drabble that keeps coming back to me.

As far as the episode itself, I'm with the camp that didn't find it depressing. Just saw it as a fun little look at an imaginary subculture where people connect over a common creative hobby. Instead of seeing the exchange of dreams as shallow, I saw it as playful and perhaps a better way to get a feel for a person's personality than groping for words in an awkward blind date. A picture says a thousand words, and an iDream says a million... provided you wrote it yourself, that is!

Personally I'd much rather have a potential love interest meet me this way for the first time. Not because I'd want to hide behind a fantasy, but because I think you'd get to know me a lot better by joining me on a little adventure through my imagination than by the dating equivalent of a job interview. Just because the iDreams are works of fiction doesn't make them devoid of anything true about yourself.
