Ok, I'll break the silence.

The story was cool, but I'm not gonna lie... I found the actual character TreeFrog7 to be a real PITA and started rooting for the moth by the end. Which, you know, I still enjoyed the story but maybe not in the intended way.

Ha, I listened to this on StarShipSofa a while back, and I was rooting for the moth too. Wasn't that what the author wanted? :) If not, why'd they put a giant monster moth in the story in the first place?

The narration was excellent! Really well produced.
The story was good, I enjoyed it. I could stand to be shortened a little, but whatever. I thought the story did a great job of showing the world through one perspective, and when it switched to the husband, that perception of the world was put in jeopardy. That woman certainly is, er, strong-willed.

Is this earth? Are the protagonists human? I'm assuming yes in both cases. If so, Is it a post apocalypse future where we have lost so much of a sense for past technology that we think computers are plants? If so, how do we have such advanced communication devices. It's been a week since I listened to the story, so forgive me if one of my queries was explicitly answered, but these were the questions lingering in my head when the episode was over.

I enjoyed the story and liked the concept of an MCPU plant, but was confused by the ending. Can anyone tell me what it meant? What happened to the protagonists?

Unless the point was the plant was gaining knowledge of all these far away places by eating/uploading the people?

I had a hard time staying with this one. Not sure why, the reading was really great and the cpu plant and other alien critters described were really cool. Maybe because it was longer than usual and I was already a little distracted or something.
I didn't get the impression this was Earth at all, or that Treefrog7 and her husband were necessarily humans (felt like they probably were, and it may have even mentioned they were). Just space explorers on a new planet.
What a bummer to be pregnant in that hot buggy setting, with alien spiders everywhere and stinky carnivores stalking you. You guys that think the woman was being a little bitchy have obviously never gotten man-preggerz. I like how the journal started having a passive aggressive tone to it, showing the relationship strain and mood swings.

Love the narrator but have to give the story a big meh for discordance.

At first I thought they were robots, not people. Then I thought just the husband was.

It seemed especially odd that they were concurrently primitive while knowing what a cursor is.

And their "storage device" was compatible with what they found even though it was some long lost tech?

I'm all for stories about human/machine hybrids but this one didn't tickle my processor.
