Pabstus Tack, Pabstus Sludge, Pabstus! Pabstus! Of him we sing. We sing his praises, it seems to me, for want of anything better to do. Pabstus Tack sits on his great golden throne, belching out light, a blinding light as gorgeous as it is uncanny. And yet it is an impure light, that is certain, for with Pabstus Tack comes Pabstus Sludge…

Shan't say much about the stories, as I don't want to offend Frank Key fans and I did listen with divided attention (as is, no doubt true of most podcast listeners), so I might have missed some nuance. But, co-narrated by St. Tom!

Good job on the narration; it was nice and clear and worked well for the stories. Especially in the second story, the narration was so good that there was no straining to understand what was said and no irritation with the voice -- both qualities that are still somewhat rare in podcast narration. Contrast Frank Key's author's-note. It sounded like he had a mouth full of gravel and was speaking from the crawl-space. Made me want to reach through the innerwebz and force him to gargle with cheap vodka.

Thanks! If I'm not the only one who chuckles, I'm not demented, right? Right?

The narration for this episode was some of my favorite perhaps ever, the first story in particular! Loved the call-and-answer feel with Norm and Tom reading together. Tom also did a spectacular job with the second story solo. I imagine that anything by Frank Key must be immensely fun to read aloud. He's got a real knack for crafting sentences with a distinctive sound - heavy on the Anglo root words and lighter on the French. Reminds me of Lewis Carroll, but weirder (if that's possible).

Heh, thanks!
Norm coached me through the trickier parts of reading Frank Key. That boy is going places, I tell you! (Utah, actually.)

Turnips were chewed.
