Please stop taking my half & half.

Let's get this out of the way: I know you're there. Don't think I'm unaware of the scrabbling sounds, the walls creaking from your bulk, the way my razor in the morning is never exactly where I left it last night. Richard always said it was the building settling—as if a building, however old, could take apples out of the fruit crisper—but he was as wrong about that as he was about a lot of things beyond the scope of this note. And since he moved out I feel you've gotten bolder.

This is my favorite story in a long time. I really enjoy the epistolary story format, where the reader needs to infer much of the action. The narration was excellent!

I loved this one for so many reasons. It all started with what seemed to be an irrational reaction by Ethan to a seemingly hostile presence. Instead of reacting reflexively negative to an unknown, however, he was open and tolerant and attempted communication, and wound up creating a relationship of that could lead to tremendous understanding between two otherwise separate groups.

Lots of lessons there for broader society. One of my favorites this year for sure.

I got the download with the authors comments repeating. At first I thought it was some postmodern, meta take - especially as I skipped through and the comments got pretty messed up at the end!

The actual story was pretty fun too.

I'd like to echo how much I enjoyed the story.

It reminded me a lot of The Cabin in the Woods. They are both dealing with beings with vast power that exist so far outside of human experience that coming in contact could at the very least make you doubt your sanity. However, it's the process of normalizing the whole scenario that allows them to cope.

Hidden monster that has travelled between dimensions from an incomprehensible elder city? Nope, just a quirky roommate. Appeasing ancient gods that will rain destruction unless you arrange grisly the deaths of innocent victims? Wrong again, it's just a boring day job.

I can't believe that I forgot to comment on this story.

I freakin loved the hell out of this story, but I think Nathan's narration really sealed the deal for me. As much as Norm has become the permanent voice in my head (haha, totally kinda joking there... not really, yes really) sometimes a story call's for a particular sort of voice and Nathan nails it down cold.

Like a few other stories, this one has become a "go-to" on my phone for when I'm stuck at work reminding myself that pacifists don't beat incompetent technicians to death with staplers at 3am; only brutish thick necks engage in this behavior.

I discovered this podcast about two months ago and have been binge-listening ever since. This was one of the first stories I heard, but some 200 episodes later, it's still one of my favourites. It made me hungry for more, like some short stories are wont to do, and I will check out the author to see if they've written other stuff in a similar vein.

Short, sweet and to the point. The one-sided dialogue really worked for me as well, and hope that the Whatever will come out of its furry, spiky shell soon. Good work, author!
