Alien vs. Predator, Remixed

Post by eric_marsh » Wed Dec 16, 2009 4:27 am

The Borg was the master of the galaxy. It had assimilated every species in the Milky Way but one. That species was unknown. No member had ever returned from the unknown ones' planet.

The Borg approached the unknown ones' world with a million ships. They offered assimilation or destruction. Resistance is futile.

On the planet was a city with a single inhabitant. It was assimilated and the quintillion members of the Borg collective all descended into screaming madness.

Evolution had not equipped the Borg to share the mind of Cthulhu, who lives in not just three dimensions but in seven.

This works pretty well but, personally, I've had more than enough Cthuhulu, for a while. (Please don't ban me! :( )

Now, if you reworked this to Chuck Norris... :D

I wouldn't lobby for a ban just because of Cthulu-burnout.

Using the "C" and "N" word combo, though. Now THAT'S a bannable offense, imo...

I like this new mixture of worlds - Star Trek and Cthulu. I think it's a more interesting mix than the Alien and Predator universes, but maybe those are what I'm burnt out on.

Well, to be honest I think Alien vs. Predator was kind of cheesy and I named this drabble after those movies because I think it's just a tad bit cheesy too. But hey, it's intended as fun, not as serious fiction.

Speaking of mixing Star Trek and Cthulhu. While I have not seen that done before, are you aware that JMS wrote the TV movie Thirdspace with a nod to to Lovecraft? So it's more or less a mixture of Babylon 5 and Cthulhu.

Not that he needs to follow up on a classic, but has JMS done anything since putting B5 to bed?

I've heard that some big names such as Ron Howard have discovered him. I think he wrote the movie Changling.

Cthuhulu always burns out everything. 7 dimensions not 3
