Missing Things

Post by Phenopath » Mon Feb 22, 2010 12:08 am

Things had been going missing for a while now. Not big things; little things like Stephen's belt, or his pills, or the bloody keys to the garage. Nobody else would want these things. They had no real value. Where the hell did they go? It was infuriating and it drove him wild.

But one Monday morning when rushing to get ready for work, Stephen finally discovered the culprit. In the mirror, out of the corner of his eye, he saw himself casually drop the remote control down behind the radiator.

The fucking bastard.

In the mirror Stephen winked at himself.

Have you been lurking around and spying on me for the past 25 years, Pheno?

btw, even though I was raised catholic, it's Steven with a "V" not a "PH." (Always wondered how I ended up with the "V", my mom is pretty devout...)

Back before the meds kicked in and started to keep most of the more serious symptoms under control I had that 'winking at myself' thing going on during the stranger mirror episodes.

This drabble weirds me out. Seriously.

No worries, mate. I've gotten over being too weirded out by Jungian synchronicity. I guess it's not really true Jungian synchro though, since causality could be explained by the fact you have heard my name and my story...

Has to be acausal to qualify.

I'm mostly amused by the drabble. I've often thought that no one can 'f' with me like I can myself.

For the avoidance of doubt; any similarities between characters in any of the drabbles that I have posted here and the patrons of these forums (past, present or future, with or without facial hair) is entirely coincidental. Apart from this one.
