An Unconscionable Act of Malice

Post by McToad » Sat Jul 24, 2010 5:51 pm

Caught as I was in an unconscionable act of malice, I could only lower my hands and drop the weapon.

“What are you doing?” Jenny demanded.

Forlornly, I stared at the rumpled heap of guilt lying at my feet.

“Well? Snap, snap! Explain yourself. Did you spill something?”

Spill? Could it be that my transgression had gone...unnoticed?

“On the veranda.”

“Don’t stand agape. Get a cleaning.”

As I reached for my towel, the blue, buzzing target of my wrath took wing. I silently mocked Jenny’s PETA t-shirt, and stepped lightly after my prey, giving the makeshift swatter a preparatory twist.
Anything is possible, few things are probable.

It's a good story, but the dialogue sounds quite odd. Jenny appears to be experiencing spiritual visitations from a Jane Austen novel.
