All I Have To Do Is Wait

Post by CLP » Mon Aug 30, 2010 7:16 pm

Light, planets and stars pile into the black hole into which Radical Man tossed me, relentlessly crushing me, the pain unfathomable.

At first, I regretted being immortal and indestructible. I yearned to die, but now, I have grown accustomed to the pain. My mind is, once again, clear.

Eventually, all matter will coalesce. Then, I will explode into a universe reborn, a universe free from Radical Man. The new inhabitants will evolve to fear and worship me, or face my wrath.

Unwittingly, Radical Man has served me a universe on a silver platter.

All I have to do is wait.

I am reminded of one of my favorite concepts from Barbara Hambly's writing, to whit, the Dead God in her Windrose Chronicles. The culture had a pantheon of gods, and the Dead God was not the God of Death (that was the Lord of Gates) but the God of Being Dead. He died and became nothingness so that, in the end, when everything was nothing, he would have everything. Entropy always wins.

Hey, is any body else worried that this has already happened...?
That was a typographical error--it should have been a blank space.
